| Hi friends! Today I was doing manual labor - mowing the grass near my house. When I paused to rest, I noticed something jumping on the mown grass. I bent down and caught something - it turned out to be a small gray toad (Bufo bufo). How do I know that? It's just that I once wrote a post about this kind of toad and remembered what they look like 😊. In general, there are two species of toads in Ukraine - the common toad or the gray toad (Bufo bufo) and the reed toad (Bufo calamita)(source). In my opinion, the gray toad is a bit more beautiful 😄. And the baby I caught today is a solid mi-mi-mi 😆. But most, I think, will not agree with me)). | Привіт, друзі! Сьогодні я займався фізичною працею - косив траву біля мого будинку. Коли я зробив паузу, щоб відпочити, я помітив, що по скошеній траві щось стрибає. Я нагнувся і впіймав це щось - виявилося, що це маленька земляна ропуха (Bufo bufo). Звідки я це знаю? Просто я вже колись писав пост цей вид ропух і запам'ятав, як вони виглядають 😊. Загалом в Україні водяться два види ропух - ропуха звичайна або ж сіра земляна жаба (Bufo bufo) та ропуха очеретяна (Bufo calamita) (джерело). Як на мене, земляна ропуха дещо красивіша 😄. А малюк, якого я сьогодні зловив - суцільне мі-мі-мі 😆. Але більшість, я гадаю, зі мною, не погодиться)). |

До речі, ропухи, на відміну від жаб, живуть на землі, лише для розмноження вони на короткий час повертаються у водойми. |
