In the daily routine and activities as a mother and wife, I try to take out some time for sewing that sometimes are requests and in most cases for my family.
Sewing is something I am passionate about, it relaxes me, it is my time to create, and put all my energies in the project I am developing, usually the ideas arise when I organize the house and I see that I need to give a new touch to certain spaces, that is where I imagine what I should sew to decorate and give it a better look, I really like to combine and contrast textures and colors, which has worked very well so far.
Another place and moment where ideas flow is at the fabric store, seeing so many colors and designs allows me to visualize what project I can do with certain fabrics; since there is a great variety ranging from the thinnest (dopiovelo, taffeta, pongee) among others to the quilted and soft ones that offer a wide range when it comes to create and combine.
On a trip to the store I saw a fabric with lots of flowers, and remembered that the bathroom needed a floral touch as they were on sale (patchwork) without wasting time I bought it and made a bathroom set of 4 pieces (2 of which I shared in a previous post the Tank Top and the Lining of the
Lining).
It was a project that I enjoyed a lot, although I had to unpick a couple of times, I liked the result and so did my family, now the bathroom looks very beautiful with those flowers decorating the toilet.
Today I will share with you the two remaining pieces: The Roll Holder and Hand Cloth.
The fabrics I used were Dacron and Sabana Microfiber.

En la rutina y actividades diarias como madre y esposa, trato de sacar un tiempo para la costura que en ocasiones son pedidos y en la mayoría de los casos para mi familia.
Coser es algo que me apasiona, me relaja, es mi momento de crear, y poner todas mis energías en el proyecto que estoy desarrollando, por lo general las ideas surgen cuando organizo la casa y veo que hace falta darle un nuevo toque a ciertos espacios, es allí donde imagino lo que debería coser para decorar y darle un mejor aspecto, me gusta mucho combinar y contrastar texturas y colores, lo cual me ha funcionado muy bien hasta ahora.
Otro lugar y momento en el cual las ideas fluyen es en la tienda de telas, el ver tantos colores y diseños me permite visualizar que proyecto puedo hacer con determinadas telas; ya que hay una gran variedad que van desde las más delgadas (dopiovelo, tafeta, pongee) entre otras hasta las acolchadas y suaves que ofrecen una amplia gama a la hora de crear y combinar.
En una salida a la tienda vi una tela con muchas flores, y recordé que el baño necesitaba un toque floral como estaban en oferta (retazos) sin perder tiempo la compré y elaboré un juego de baño de 4 piezas (2 de las cuales compartí en una publicación anterior la Tapa del Tanque y el Forro de la
Poceta).
Fue un proyecto que disfruté mucho, aunque tuve que descoser un par de veces, el resultado me gustó y a mi familia también, ahora el baño se ve muy hermoso con esas flores decorando el sanitario.
Hoy les compartiré las dos piezas restantes: El porta Rolllo y paño de Mano.
Las telas que usé fueron Dacrón y Sabana Microfibra.
PROCEDURE
Cut the pieces, main fabric and lining of the roll holder and ribbon, put the felt underneath, folded the ribbon in half and sewed the ruffle.
PROCEDIMIENTO
Cortadas las piezas, tela principal y forro del porta rollo y la cinta, puse el fieltro debajo, doblé la cinta a la mitad y cosí el volado.
I faced right sides together, sewed through the seam leaving an opening to turn over, then closed the opening.
Enfrenté derecho con derecho, pasé costura dejando una abertura para voltear, luego cerré la abertura
I made the hand towel with a rectangle of Dacron to which I glued fabric ribbons at the top and bottom.
El paño de mano lo hice con un rectángulo de Dacrón al cual pegué cintas de tela en la parte superior e inferior.
I sewed a hem on the sides, cut out a flower from the main fabric, glued it to the cloth, added a cord for hanging and finished the bathroom set, my family and I really liked the result, I hope it will be useful to beautify the toilet.
Cosí un dobladillo por los lados, recorté una flor de la tela principal, la pegué al paño, añadí un cordón para colgar y terminado el juego de baño, a mi familia y a mi nos gustó mucho el resultado, espero les sea útil para embellecer el sanitario.
