Hello great needle workers.

I feel super excited every Sunday evening knowing Monday will soon Dawn.

Today I will be showing us how I mended my colleague's Snickers in the office to salvage him from walking bare footed back home from work.

I like to live very prepared for any circumstances that may arise so you could call me a proactive individual I would'nt mind and off course that would be awesome.

Everyday comes with certain situations we don't always bargain for and truth is that if those things don't happen sometimes, we wouldn't learn how to put ourself well for any occurrence.

Let me whisper something into your ears... Please is working on your stuff in the office a bad idea?

If didn't do that my colleague would have walk back home bare footed.

Simple Process, Awesome outcome.

It is always fun doing things myself because it got me expose to the technics of the work whether am in that field or not so I like to do things myself.

First before I explain the process let me mention the things I used for the mending.

  • A black shoe tread
  • A pink handle shoe needle
  • A cutter
  • Myself.

It was a smooth process and I think everyone and anyone can also do it.

So I began by making sure that I perfectly insert the thread into the shoe and the difference here is that you don't put the thread into the needle but into the shoe.

But before we begin sewing, just be sure that you've removed the shoe cord so you can have access into the from of the shoe.

Just like this

IMG_20201116_164741_3.jpg

Pull out the tongue of the shoe so that you will be able to work on the inside well.

The process is quite different compared to stitching a dress. In mending your shoe, you leave part of the sewing thread inside the shoe and part of it outside just like this.

IMG_20201116_164928_1.jpg

Now the reason is because you push in the needle into the shoe to tap out a thread where you will tie with the one outside to have a firm sewing.

So the process continues like that till you get the end.

But what if either of the tread(inside or outside) finishes like it happened to me while I was working?

It simple.. Just get another tread and join to the remaining of either the inside or outside pending on the one the got finished.

And make sure you trim off the excess tread and continue sewing.

It will fun mending your colleagues snicker I tell you.

Learn to give hope to hopeless situations and learn to put smiles on the faces of people.

The process.

Make sure you finish it properly by tying the tread to avoid another opening.

Happy Halloween to all needle workers in advance. As you prepare to celebrate please remember to stay safe and keep social distance.

What a great skill to have! Mending a shoe is hard work. I didn't know there were special shoe needles but that makes sense. I have tried mending a sandal strap before and it was HARD getting a regular needle to go through (it was either leather or fake leather, the strap, I don't remember). I should have had a shoe needle!

Am glad you've learnt a new thing from my content.

Now I hope you would be able to mend your sandal strap another time.

Thanks for reading through.

Well done. I always believed that this type of work was very difficult but you have made it look easy, although I do not rule out that it is hard work. It should not be easy to get the needle through the sole.

Well! It's isn't really a hard work. Some of sole are not as hard as you think they are. You should try it out and I bet you will love it.
