Introduce Nakshi kantha,

Nakshi kantha is a part of the folk art of India and Bangladesh. Usually the fabric is sewn by picking up the yarn from the edge of the old cloth or by buying yarn like blue, red, yellow etc. from the weavers. The yarn is untied by placing the foot on the floor of the house and sticking the edge of the cloth with the toes. This yarn is left for later use. After sewing ordinary kantha, various patterns are made on it by mixing the sweetness of the mind, which includes flowers, vines, leaves etc. Nakshi kantha is made all over Bangladesh, but Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Faridpur and Jessore are famous for nakshi kantha. In 2006, the Indian state of West Bengal gained geographical recognition for Nakshi Kantha.

Tradition.

Like other folk art, kantha has daily implications, weather, environmental and economic influences. Later it was from this that Nakshi Kantha emerged.

Construction style,

Most of the village women are skilled in this industry. Usually the women of the village sew nakshi kantha in their leisure time. It takes a long time, even 1 year, to sew a kantha. Grandmothers and grandmothers sew nakshi kantha to give as a gift to the new son-in-law or Nad's wife. There are many stories of laughter and tears behind sewing a kantha. In the afternoon or after dinner, the women sit together and sew a kantha while talking. That is why it is said that nakshi kantha speaks to one's mind. It is mainly sewn in the rainy season. It takes 5 to 6 sarees to make a proof size kantha. Nowadays cotton cloth is used instead of old materials. Lately the use of old cloth in making kantha has decreased.

Basically it is painted with something before designing. Then it is sewn along with the needle-thread. In kantha the design of the middle part is usually done earlier and the design of the surroundings is done gradually. Earlier wooden blocks were used to draw some kantha designs, now tracing paper is used.

Sewing,

At first only running sewing kantha was common. This type of rock is called fodder. At present, kantha is made by sewing chatai, kaitya sewing, jasure sewing, rifu sewing, Kashmiri sewing, shar sewing, etc. Occasionally herringbone stitching, satin stitching, back stitching and cross stitching are used.
