MACRAME: Headband for girl [ENG] / Diadema para niña [ESP]

One of those days when you have to prepare a gift that you had not planned for a little girl, with the issue of the pandemic and the restrictions to mobilize myself it is complicated to go out to look for a gift. For this reason, I decided to make the gift, luckily I have materials that I have been accumulating over time, knowledge of various weaving techniques and the magic of my creativity.

I will be showing you how I made the decoration of a plastic headband using the macramé weaving technique, which consists of a knot-based weaving, it has several types of variants of knots; today I will show you the flat knot.

Macramé is an ideal weaving technique to teach to children and teenagers, I taught my 10 year old niece to weave it, and she makes her own bracelets to match her clothes, I learned this technique when I was 11 years old.

Here my niece, when she made the bracelets, did not want her face to be seen in the photo, she learned during a vacation, she also painted her nails during that vacation.

De esos días en que tienes que preparar un regalo que no tenías previsto para una pequeña niña, con el tema de la pandemia y las restricciones para movilizarme se hace complicado salir a buscar un regalo. Por tal motivo, me decidí a realizar el regalo, menos mal que tengo materiales que he ido acumulando con el pasar del tiempo, conocimientos de varias técnicas de tejido y la magia de mi creatividad.

Les estaré mostrando cómo hice la decoración de un cintillo de plástico usando la técnica de tejido macramé, la cual consiste en un tejido a base de nudos, tiene diversos tipos de variantes de nudos; hoy les mostraré el nudo plano.

El macramé es una técnica de tejido ideal para enseñarle a niños y adolescentes, enseñé a mi sobrina de 10 años a tejerla, y ella se hace sus pulseras para combinar con su ropa, yo aprendí esta técnica a los 11 años.

Acá mi sobrina cuando hizo las pulseras, no quiso que que se viera su cara en la foto, aprendió en unas vacaciones, también en esas vacaciones se pintaba las uñas.

Steps / Pasos

Start at one end of the headband by placing silicone, I used hot silicone, be careful when using hot silicone, as it is unpleasant to burn the headband with hot silicone.

Comenzar por uno de los extremos de la diadema colocando silicón, usé silicón caliente, ser cuidadosos al momento de usar silicón caliente, ya que es desagradable una quemada con dicho silicón.

In the place where the silicone was placed, place one of the ends of the tape, add silicone on the tape that has been glued to the headband and place the end of the other tape.

En el lugar donde se colocó el silicón colocar uno de los extremos de la cinta, agregar silicón sobre la cinta que ha sido pegada al cintillo y colocar el extremo de la otra cinta.

Begin weaving, pass the ribbon (yellow) on the left side behind the headband, and hold.

Comenzar a tejer, pasar la cinta (amarilla) del lado izquierdo por detrás de la diadema, y sostener.

Pass the ribbon on the right side (white) behind the ribbon (yellow) that was passed behind the headband.

Pasar la cinta del lado derecho (blanca) por detrás de la cinta (amarilla) que fue pasada detrás de la diadema.

Pass the ribbon that was passed under the yellow ribbon in front of the headband and through the arch formed in the (yellow) ribbon on the left.

Repetir los pasos, es importante ir ajustando sobre la diadema el nudo. Alternar el tejido, si se inicia el nudo por el lado izquierdo, el próximo nudo se iniciará por el lado derecho y así sucesivamente.

For this headband I wanted to weave a part with two colored ribbons and another part with the two ribbons with the same color, to do this cut and secure using silicone the ribbon behind the headband. Then glue the two ends of the ribbon of the same color and continue weaving.

Para esta diadema quise tejer una parte con cinta de dos colores y otra parte con las dos cintas con el mismo color, para ello cortar y asegurar usando silicón la cinta por detrás de la diadema. Luego pegar los dos extremos de la cinta del mismo color y seguir tejiendo.

Weave until the ribbon decorates the entire headband. Cut the remaining ribbon.

Tejer hasta decorar con la cinta toda la diadema. Cortar la cinta restante.

To complete the decoration I placed a purple flower. You can decorate with whatever you wish with a woven ribbon or satin ribbon bow, amigurrumi, or buttons, among others.

Para completar la decoración coloqué una flor morada. Pueden decorar con lo que deseen con un lazo tejido o de cinta de raso, con un amigurrumi, o botones, entre otros.

I realized that the flower was missing something, so I put a pearl on it.

Me percaté de que le hacía falta algo a la flor, y le coloqué una perla.

After having completed the corresponding sequence, the decoration of the tiara has been made. It is a simple project to make and it can help you when you have to give an unexpected gift or it can also work to start a new business.

Luego de haber completado la secuencia correspondiente se ha realizado la decoración de la diadema, es un proyecto sencillo de hacer y que puede sacar de apuros cuando se debe hacer un regalo de imprevisto o también puede funcionar para comenzar un emprendimiento.
