Autumn Inspired Crochet Skirt

Good day Hiveians. It's been a busy and tiring week for me. I was supposedly be sharing to you another crochet tutorial on earrings last thursday but keeps on postponing until today because of some circustances. And end up sharing with you this commissioned project that I enjoyed working.

Remember the Autumn Inspired Croptop Tutorial that I shared before here? The bottom skirt was finally done after the busy schedule of juggling the (1) modules of my 7-year old son, (2) crochet tutorials/workshops for the teenagers who were almost present every afternoon, (3) house chores and (4) attending the needs of my 4-year old son who is about to receive his modules next week. Good luck to me then.

The Crochet Skirt

I feel satisfied and happy staring at this piece, knowing that it's my first time for this kind of design. The color combinations were beautifully arranged and had an awesome effect that made me want to make another set of different designs. I'm starting scrolling again on the internet for inspirations. Funny, but there are still tons of screenshots on my phone that are waiting to recreate and alter. 🙈

I used fine cotton and spun polly with this project. I only used what was on my stash and combined the colors anyway.

It took me almost 2 weeks of on and off crocheting the bottom skirt but it's all worth it. I took a picture on it yesterday and sent it to my client, patiently waiting for her feedback. And early morning today, she replied that she liked it much and that she wanted this design exclusive only for her clothing line. She was a half Filipino, half American, residing in US and was planning to visit Philippines next year for the opening of her resort and wanted to meet me in person to talk about the collaboration. I was a little ecstatic hearing about it but have to control since it is still early. There's a lot of things to happen in the future. Only God knows what will be our future no matter how we planned it to be.

For now, I just have to improve on my crocheting by trying different stitches and designs, finish the other 5 pairs she wanted me to do, and train the girls on crochet wearables so in the future they will be my team to help me with the orders. And maybe I have to limit my self also on just scrolling on all social media, more focus on my to-do-list so I can finish and proceed immediately to the next project.

Hope you enjoy reading. And have a blessed weekend ahead.
