Al iniciar este nuevo año me he propuesto concluir los proyectos pendientes del año pasado, para luego iniciar con algunos proyectos que he tenido en mente desde hace algún tiempo. Tal es el caso de este proyecto que quiero compartir hoy con ustedes en nuestro esperado Lunes de labores de agujas. Para mí es un placer saludarles y compartir la historia de mis proyectos a crochet.

Este proyecto surge a raiz del fracaso de un proyecto anterior, que compartí con ustedes hace algunas semanas. La idea de aquel proyecto era la de reciclar y reusar el hilo de un vestido que tejí para mi sobrina cuando ella era una bebé. El proyecto original fue tejer una blusa tipo top, pero resultó ser muy pequeña para mi sobrina, quien ahora tiene 4 años. Acá te dejo el enlace de esa publicación para ponerte en contexto.

Debo confesar que me sentí un poco decepcionada con el fracaso de esta transformación, así que decidí guardarlo en el cajón del olvido.

Sin embargo, el fin de semana pasado tenía muchas ganas de tejer algo sencillo que pudiera terminar por lo menos en dos días. Fue así como recordé que tenía pendiente terminar este proyecto para mi sobrina.
No obstante, decidí tejer algo totalmente diferente que me hiciera olvidar la decepción anterior.

Lo primero que me vino a la mente fue elaborar un traje de baño con copas tipo triángulo. Manos al tejido, elaboré las dos copas en muy corto tiempo, por lo que la parte de arriba del traje de baño estuvo listo en pocas horas.

Al tener lista la parte superior, me tomé un descanso para tomar mi acostumbrado café de la tarde y pensar un poco en como tejería la parte inferior.

Mientras tomaba mi café, recordé que el primer traje de baño que tejí, fue para mi hija. En ese entonces no tenía acceso a internet como ahora, por lo que no tuve ayuda de ningún video tutorial.
Pasé semanas tejiendo y destejiendo hasta lograr el conjunto completo.
Recuerdo que el bikini fue lo más dificil de tejer, así que, en esta ocasión me decidí por un short.

También fue la primera vez que tejía un short de baño, pero me entusiasmo mucho esta idea. Estuve tan entretenida y contenta tejiendo este traje de baño que no me dormí hasta terminarlo, estaba tan ansiosa por ver el resultado final, que solo me tomó el día sábado elaborar las dos piezas.

El domingo en la mañana fui a visitar a mi sobrina para entregarle su nuevo traje de baño. Ella estuvo feliz con este detalle y yo muy feliz de haber concluído uno de mis proyectos pendientes.

At the beginning of this new year I have proposed to finish the pending projects from last year, and then start with some projects that I have had in mind for some time. Such is the case of this project that I want to share with you today in our awaited Needlework Monday. It is a pleasure for me to greet you and share the story of my crochet projects.

This project arose from the failure of a previous project, which I shared with you a few weeks ago. The idea of that project was to recycle and reuse the yarn from a dress I knitted for my niece when she was a baby. The original project was to knit a top type blouse, but it turned out to be too small for my niece, who is now 4 years old. Here is the link to that post to give you some context.

I must confess that I was a little disappointed with the failure of this transformation, so I decided to put it away in the drawer of oblivion. However, last weekend I really wanted to knit something simple that I could finish in at least two days. That's how I remembered that I had this project for my niece to finish. Nevertheless, I decided to knit something totally different that would make me forget the previous disappointment.

The first thing that came to my mind was to make a swimsuit with triangle cups. Hands on, I made the two cups in a very short time, so the top of the swimsuit was ready in a few hours.

Once I had the top part ready, I took a break to drink my usual afternoon coffee and think a bit about how I would knit the bottom part. As I sipped my coffee, I remembered that the first swimsuit I knitted was for my daughter. Back then I didn't have access to the internet like I do now, so I had no help from any video tutorials. I spent weeks knitting and unknitting until I got the whole outfit. I remember that the bikini was the most difficult thing to knit, so, this time I decided to knit a short.

It was also the first time I knitted a swimsuit short, but I was very excited about this idea.

I was so entertained and happy knitting this swimsuit that I didn't sleep until I finished it, I was anxious to see the final result, it only took me Saturday to knit the two pieces.
On Sunday morning I went to visit my niece to give her her new swimsuit. She was happy with this detail and I was very happy to have finished one of my pending projects.

Que mal cuando algo lo nos sale bien, pero es cuando más nos esforzamos por hacer lo necesario para que nos salga mejor.

Este traje de baño está precioso, me encantó. Hace como 20 años le hice uno a mi bebé, también sin tener ni ganchillo, hoy me vino ese recuerdo con tu publicación.

Tengo bastante tiempo que no tengo, siempre digo que me voy a poner y no lo hago, ojalá un día de estos me ponga a recordar viejos tiempos.

Y claro con la ayuda de los videos tutoriales uno se ayuda un montón.

Si vale, ahora se puede aprender cualquier cosa, siempre que tengamos la disposición hacer las cosas y claro el tiempo también.

Son tantas cosas que quiero aprender, que tendría que hacer varios clon de mi jejeje.

Me alegra mucho que hayas sido tan persistente con este proyecto, aunque el primero no resultó como esperaba pudiste reutilizar el hilo y crear este lindo diseño.

Oh wow what a great accomplishment Katty! The set is so beautiful! This was a good way to redeem yourself from your disappointment and not give up. I love the white trimmings around the set.

I’ve grown to love shorts instead of bikinis on swimsuits. In my opinion they are cuter and more comfortable to wear. 😁

Que hermoso proyecto Katty. Que bueno que puedas seguir aprovechando este hilo para prendas para tu sobrina. Sería genial ir teniendo los recuerdos de ella usando tus regalos a medida que crece. Cuando sea más grande seguramente se te ocurrirá algo más y así sucesivamente.
