Hi! My dear friends from Hive.
As always, it is a great pleasure for me to participate again in the incubation program promoted by #OCD in support of the communities. This time it is up to this wonderful community of the needle.
Every time I participate in these programs I try to do my bit and do my best to give my support in some way. Here I have had a hard time, because of the homework subjects sewing is the worst I do, it's not that I haven't tried it, in fact I even have a sewing machine that my older sister gave me when I had my daughters, (which by the way is damaged) and she was crazy for wanting to do all her clothes. I tried and made some clothes for them, pajamas, shorts, dresses, but to be honest it is not what I am passionate about, however I can say that what I learned in my free time I put into practice every day when I have to finish some sewing or mending some garment, mount a zipper, grab hems to some pants, etc.
I have always thought that when we are born, we already come with our destinies written and with the gifts that correspond to each person, some of us develop and exploit them as we want, others that we don't even know because we don't bother to find out. Some are born musicians, writers, poets, teachers, scientists, engineers, designers, cooks, seamstresses, weavers, in short, everyone we know, and each one plays an important part in this great world that we have had to live. I remember that when I was younger, a cousin told my aunt one day, "that if she didn't study, she shouldn't worry, that there should always be someone who sweeps the streets," and even if the example is bad, she's right about something, each who came with a goal in life and whatever it is, we must do it with pride.
My passion is cooking, and here it is also well deserved to have knowledge of sewing, because in it cloths are used, it takes pots, gloves, table tops, tablecloths, curtains and a series of utensils that require the use of a needle and thread for its preparation. .
That is why today I want to present my project that I elaborated with great affection for you, the #NeedleWorkMonday community and that will be very useful in what I am most passionate about, COOKING.

¡Holaaaaaa!

Hola.

😚 Saludos.

Hello @linita!

I commend you for giving this a go even though sewing isn’t your passion. I can relate to this. My mother has been sewing for years and when I was younger she wanted to teach me. I felt it was boring and passed on the learning.

Fast forward, I ended up falling in love with the art of crochet. Somewhere in between I remembered how much my mother wanted me to sew, I didn’t appreciate the art back then nor understood how important it is to have those basic skills.

She eventually began teaching my daughter and I how to sew. I really struggled with some things as it didn’t come as natural to me as the crochet hook did but I didn’t give up. I ended up making some things and actually enjoying it. Now I used my new knowledge to mend clothes for my family and make things for my daughters toys :)

Your pot holders turned out really nice. Now you have some handy tools that will be able to assist you while in the kitchen ;)

Thanks for entering the contest ~
