Granny knits for Baby Arthur - Meeting Arthur for the first time

I met Baby Arthur properly for the first time recently, he is adorable beyond words. Babies are the most incredible bundle of joy, and Arthur is the cutest baby I have seen in a long long time. It's a pity that I can't show you his cute little face as his parents are very private people. But if I told you he has eyes that can dazzle you, cute little dimples and a smile that can melt your heart, then you can probably imagine how adorable he is. He didn't mind me holding him, and is a nosey little baby always looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings. You can probably tell how happy I am to hold him, until he got a bit too heavy for me and I quickly handed him back to his mummy!!!

Continuing with my previous Granny knits for Baby Arthur post, today I am sharing some items knitted by Arthur's granny, ie my sister. She's a brilliant knitter and has knitted some awesome garments for Arthur, as well as Barbie and miniature doll clothes.

This short sleeve cardigan is the one that Arthur is wearing in the photo above. Personally I think the style is a bit girly, it's the style I would wear as it keeps you nice and warm but leaves your arms free to do other stuff. It's great for babies as Arthur is starting to wave his little arms around a lot more, so the short sleeves makes it easier for his arm movements. The dark graduated colour scheme is very nice, and I think the touch of light blue makes the whole cardigan stand out and a lot livelier. Great for a little baby as you don't want them to look too dull.

This blue long sleeve jumper doesn't have a fun pattern like Arthur's other garments but is still has a nice colourful contrast of colour around the edges and collar. The most striking part for me is the cute aeroplane blue buttons. The yellow on this jumper matches the minion mittens and hat set.

Not being a minion fan myself, I can still instantly recognise the character here. I think it's a bonkers little set and Arthur must look so funny if he wears the hat. It is so cute!

I love the hot air balloon on this cardigan, it's absolutely brilliant. The balloon is knitted as part of the cardigan and then the edges are sewn around to outline the balloon. The basket doubles up as a pocket which I think is very clever. Great for Arthur to keep his sweeties in there. The two clouds on the other side is great to add to the flying theme against the blue sky. I think this is a really playful cardigan.

By the way, for those who haven't read my previous posts about Arthur, he is my great-nephew ie my sister's grandchild. I've only seen him in flesh twice since he was born, both times when I bumped into him and his mummy and granny going out shopping. But of course I couldn't hold him because of Covid. Arthur and his parents are moving into the property where I am staying now, so that makes us part of the same household, therefore I can hold him. I'm so happy that I can get to hold him and play with him at last.

This is the fourth post in my Granny knits for Baby Arthur series. This series showcases the knitting done by my sister, and I'm sharing it here to help build a toy fund for her grandchild Baby Arthur, hence the series name. If you missed the introduction post, you can check it out here.

Great knitted clothes. But I am partial to minions, them being a favorite of my grandson and myself. But not to say I don't like the other stuff. They're great too. If you see baby Arthur again give him a big hug for me, if that would be possible by then.

Babies nowadays get so much love from parents and grandparents, and often its one or two child vs so many adults, they really are very lucky!!

I'm pretty sure I'm enjoying my time with Arthur more than him with me, I wonder if he cares at all as long some one plays with him. He does smile at me, which is lovely 😍

I can definitely imagine just how adorable he is. ☺️🤗

I love your sister’s knitting skills. I really love the cardigan he has on, those colors are so cute.

So glad you got to cuddle him ~

Thanks @crosheille, he just learnt to roll over these few days, and it's so funny to watch him a little helpless afterwards because he doesn't know how to roll back yet, and then starts to cry 😀

😆😀🤗 Oh my goodness I love that stage of baby growth. It’s so hilarious watching them trying to flip over their arm to get back over. 😅

WOW, that is very beautiful. The minion hat and mittens are very awesome. I always want to learn how to do that. I think on my birthday I want something like that.

I think you will look very cute in the minion hat, but will it be too hot for you? Is it always very hot in Suriname, or does it get cold as well?

At night sometime it is cold and sometime it is hot. But, it is hot here now.
