A little transformation for my mothers gift
Hello Hiveians
My mother often felt that wearing big long skirt is a sign of virtue and purity for every young girl.
She wouldn't stop emphasizing why you should cover your legs and put on loose cloth that fill not fit or show your figures when you go out.
That was her definition but in honesty these morals are a thing of the heart and whether a wear a short skirt or not a reflection of who I am is always on the inside.
Momma is no more and I hope she won't be mad at me for transforming this long gift of a skirt into a short pencil skirt of my taste.
Doing this proved a little challenging as the Jean has been sewn in different directions with seam allowances and the the flat fell seam finishing that runs along the length of the skirt.
So I made sure the flat fell seam finishing falls beside the new darts I created on the skirt..
I didn't want my skit looking plain and even though I don't know how to do embroidery i had an embroidered bird cut out from another piece of cloth go decorate my skirt
I used a simple pencil skirt pattern I drafted using my waist hip and full length measurements here.
Placed this on fabric cut and sew in the darts.
This suits my taste and am gonna rock mummy's gift in a better way.
That's a beautiful transformation for me.
Lovely piece, I like that you decided to transform it to your taste. I can relate to mums always wanting us to wear cloths that's below our knees😂😂
