Greetings to all needle artists and supporters!

Welcome to @needleworkmonday’s Featured Posts #89

This is a weekly curation showcasing the needlework of our very own HIVEians. Every Monday we get together to share our love and passion for the needle arts, posting from the NeedleWorkMonday community and using the #needleworkmonday tag (on all other days we use the #needlework tag).
We enjoy each other’s creations, ideas, patterns, tips and shortcuts.

We strive to bring to you great quality work filled with tutorials and inspiration. Please help us keep these wonderful needle arts active and thriving by supporting our creative work and community!

One thing you see again and again here on NeedleWorkMonday is "pimping", how to embellish existing things, how a little work and effort improve things, make them more personal and increases their worth. I gathered some examples to show what can be done - perhaps you feel inspired!
Remember: only six months left till Christmas, time to plan your gift list. Self-made gifts are the best ;) Here are our featured posts this week from members who posted from the NeedleWorkMonday Community...

Beginners works by @june21neneng

grafik.png

Some fabric in a colour you like, some matching yarn and a crochet hook - that's all you need to make this lovely napkin. @june21neneng shows us the necessary steps. The next time you have guests, the whole table could be colour coordinated or such napkins might be a nice gift. Another thing I like: it's a small project. You could keep it in your handbag and work on it when you have to wait somewhere :)

Crocheting with Pull Tabs - a video by @jurich60

grafik.png

The picture shows what is needed to make lovely things, from coasters over belts to bags, with pull tabs. This is upcycling at its best and @jurich60 even made a video to show us how to do it! So go to her post, look at the lovely pictures and watch the video :)

Cape with interchangeable logos/symbols by @marblely

grafik.png

This is a brilliant example how to personalize something. @marblely used Velcro to make different signs interchangeable on a cape. There are so many uses for this: decorating a bag or jacket with appliquéd items in the colours of your outfit, changing your home decor with the seasons or sport fans could show the one of their supported club which has an important game soon.

Hand-embroidered hook with beads and Crystals by @marleyn

grafik.png

How often do we see something that is nice but not quite what we want? How often do we think "Well, I could do that myself"? @marley shows us how to make a barrette which is not only useful, but really decorative. Lots of pictures to show every step, especially the embroidering with beads.
