Hello needleworkers and to my dear Hiveans! I'd like to present my wide hat which I made intricately. You see, I have just discovered that it is more difficult when you make a replica of the original image you wanted to copy.

Would you believe that I made this petit wide hat for three days?

Originally, I am supposed to make a pouch for the feeding bottle of our coming baby girl but since she's still due on July, I changed my mind.

I started to create little shells. The thread is thin and I know it will be more intricate to made which is more challenging on my part which I did. Below, you can see my progress. I made a six-rounds shell design.

I made a finishing after the six rounds when it started to make a natural flip which made it even more lovely to look at.

I manually made a little cord to maintain the structure of the head part and to enhance its appearance.

There, see how cute it is! Actually, the whole process is not done yet because that's only the upper part. Somebody will be wearing that so watch out for further developments. Meanwhile let her wear that hat because the front shield will be too hot where she will be hanging!

Thanking @needlework, @shanibeer, @neumannsalva, @muscara and @marblely. The beautiful ladies behind the curtains of Needlework Community!

Keep safe everyone!

Till then,

@Sarimanok

Coincidences... I need a hat for the garden work and I am still indecisive if I should try to sew one or if I should crochet a hat. Yours is so lovely with the shells and the pink color. Did you used a special thread to make it more durable? I read that some people even use a kind of paper yarn to crochet a straw hat...

Hi dear, I used the mercerized cotton for this which is durable and cool to the head. The plastic straw and upcycled plastic bags is also good, rain or shine though I want the ones that I can use immediately before boredom kills my interest. You know, when you think of something and you want it done ASAP! Lol!

Sadly I know too well the drive to immediately start a new project :-DDD And a cooling hat would be great for the garden... I guess I should search for yarn 🧶

Ah one of my favourite crochet projects, hats :) One of the few projects that I can complete in full hehe. Your hat looks really lovely on the white whale? The hat would look lovely on the baby girl too :)
