Exploration of the mine of St. Vitus I / Průzkum dolu sv. Víta I.

We will start our survey at the railway station in Chrást in the district of Plzeň - north.
We will take the necessary equipment with us. Helmets, flashlights, rubber bands and underground clothing.
We will visit the defunct vitriol mine together…

The entrance to the gallery system of the abandoned mine is located in the culvert under the railway line near the station.
The culvert passes through a steep gorge in a deciduous forest. At the bottom of the gorge we find a number of streams flowing out of the underground spaces of the flooded galleries of the system.

Today's entrance to the mine of St. Welcome. The mine was founded in 1789.

Náš průzkum zahájíme na železničním nádraží v Chrástu v okrese Plzeň – Sever.
Vezeme si s sebou potřebné vybavení. Helmy, svítilny, gumovky a oblečení do podzemí.
Navštívíme společně zaniklý vitriolový důl…

Vstup do systému štol opuštěného dolu se nalézá v propustku pod železniční tratí nedaleko nádraží.
Propustek prochází prudkou roklí v listnatém lese. Na dně rokle najdeme množství potůčků vytékajících z podzemních prostor zatopených štol systému.

Dnešní vchod do dolu sv. Víta. Důl byl založen v roce 1789.

Před propustkem musíme překonat hromadu odpadu

A nyní už můžeme vstoupit dovnitř. Vchod do propustku je zatopen po nedávných deštích. Gumovky jsou nutností. Postupujeme opatrně a klackem zkoumáme hloubku vody před námi.

Konečně jsme uvnitř. Můžeme se směle pustit na průzkum…
