Hello hiveians

It's another beautiful day in the land of the living.

Today, I will be sharing with you how I made a turtle neck A line gown embellished with stones to make it beautiful.

In Nigeria, most times, when a wedding date is fixed, a particular fabric is selected for guests and well wishers for sale to honour the occasion and this fabric is what is popularly known as aso ebi.

Last week, we made different types of gown from this aso ebi selected for the wedding of one of our neighbors who got married last weekend.

This gown was made as a simple A line gown with a turtle neck and a small zipper in front but when the client came, she said she doesn't want the zipper at the front, instead, she'll prefer a placket with pressing buttons.

I and my friend had to loosen the neck of the dress and get the placket sewn.

This is the cutting and sewing process.

I cut out two pieces of 12" by 3" fabric and ironed an interface on the wrong side.

Marked half inch on both sides of each of the pieces then fold in two to give you 1" and iron.

Fold the front of the dress in two to get the mid point and slash from the neckline to about 8" downward.

Turn the front pattern to the wrong side and sew the placket on one of the opening with the half inch ironed. Do the same to the other side and fold in the 1" and top stitch on the right side.

Make a triangular shape at the end of the 8" marked and fold it inward while you sew the placket on it, then fold the end of the placket inward for proper and neat finishing.

Pipe the neckline and fix the pressing buttons.

Finally, our gown is ready and embellished with stones.
