Creative Recycling Challenge #5, re: Creating Recyclable Materials for Snowman
Hello my dear builders! I am happy to be a part of this contest and I thank @nayromero for sharing me this wonderful event during her comment on my previous post. Here it is.
Materials needed:
• buttons
• scraps/trimmings
• old socks
• ribbons
• thread and needle
Simply gather the trimmings and mold them before inserting it into the sock. It will be a lot easier to push in.
After the desired size and height is achieved, tie on top for the head part, then pull up, make a fold and bring down. That will serve as a bonnet for Mr. Snowman!
Then I looked for the right buttons for the chest and eyes. Well, I used my little bottle of black pepper to store buttons and other bits n' pieces so I can easily find it when I needed them. I also found a scrap crayon sharpener which I've kept. I used for the nose of Mr. Snowman!
Since I still have an extra pair of socks, I thought of taking Mrs. Snowman into view, following the same process. I only inverted the wrong side of the sock and used red buttons for distinction.
Mrs. Snowman
There she is! But she seems lonely...
How about taking Little snowman with them?
I tried tissue roller and an old Christmas ball to start with. It's just the right size!
Baby snowman
I used two tubes and inserted the other one to make it durable then I wrapped some scraps for the tummy. Next, I tied the ears of the ball to pull it down and it along in closing the bottom part. Of course, I used the little sock of Antonia for this.
Then I cut the pair of socks to make the bonnet. I crocheted the edges to make it beautiful and placed some thread trimmings on top of the miniature bonnet.
There, isn't she beautiful? Now it's time to put their noses to make them smile!
