From Wet Look Pants To Handy Bag: A Beautiful Transformation
Happy Monday everyone! Once again, I dug on my little 'treasures' and found a wet look pants which was used by my ladies for a dance number during their high school days. See, I've kept it that long!
The cloth is a blend of wet look and woollen fabric which is the right cloth for the handle which I have detached from my damaged bag. Well, I have turned it into tissue box organizer but I kept the handle and the side padding.
I cut the lower part and transformed the upper part into short pants for Antonia.
I've cut an oval shape instead of the original square shape then took my old shorts for the lining. I chose the back part with intention to utilize the pockets too.
When I started to attach the parts using my sewing machine, I've realized that the materials are tough and can't be sewn so I decided to do manual sewing instead.
I used my Punch-in needle first to make a little hole.
... To be followed by my crochet needle to pull in the nylon twine, forming a blanket stitch.
Doing the manual process was a bit straining but the show must go on stitch by stitch.
The good thing was that I did my task while watching the news on social media to prevent boredom before it ends up in my box and never done!
At last, the first part was done. As you can see, I already have a built-in pocket for my face mask and/or coins on the other pocket.
Then I inverted the right side of it. I was quite satisfied with the result. The print did matched the faux crocodile handle.
The animal textures gives a wild look, giving my creation a raw look.
This is all for now, thank you @built-it community for the support.
Till then,
Nice! Galing mo talaga Sis may new bag ka na trendy pa.
Thanks sis. Though it's hard to make the holes since you need to prick each one with the Punch-in needle because the padding is hard plus the denim cloth and you need to pull back the thread with the crochet hook with a nylon twine but it's all worth it. The aim to finish it was quite a challenge. Lol!
