Moving Forward in Life Amidst Covid-19 || Marriage Rites made easy by Covid-19

Marriage is often referred to as the union between two persons ( "the man and the wife"), witnessed by two or more persons, officiated by a Church Priest, Customary Court Marriage Registrar, or a traditional priest and consummated on the matrimonial bed.

Genesis 2:24
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh(KJV).

This year, so many events including marriage has been put on hold because of the covid-19 lockdown requirements for marriage ceremony. Many people wants elaborate marriage ceremony which the state frowns at inorder to prevent Community transmission of the virus.

Moreso, some people has made use of the covid-19 situation to make their marriage ceremony a reality, keying into the restriction regulations on public gathering of not more than twenty (20) persons.

Many people have been stuck with their life plans courtesy of covid-19, but life must move forward at the same time.

It could never been easier and better than it was. A beautiful sight of two people joined in the presence of five witnesses. The extra cost of financing a wedding reception with attendance guests of 1000 people is automatically cut out. such a huge relief!

Kufre and Regina are close friends which i respect their decision to be the first couple I know to wedd in this time and season. This white wedding was conducted at the Uyo marriage registry and witnessed by friends and relatives ( selected few) as they were legally declared husband and wife.

The Traditional marriage ceremony was not Left out as the duo was joined also traditionally, make their parents and ancestors proud!

After the traditional rite was performed, the husband and wife were traditionally declared couples

It was time to cut the cake which had the traditional representation of the ibibio nation as symbolized by the calabash and tray.

The cake was cut by the couple in front of observers.

Photo shot followed the atmosphere as the couple took their time to register future memories I photos for post covid-19 memories.

That was how the ceremony ended in the presence of few witness as evidence to the goodness of God in the face of this pandemic, with safety to me as a testimony that I am alive and serves as my entry for today's #iamalivechallange by @flaxz.
