Couldn't Resist And Opened My Splinterlands Packs

I was resisting opening my packs till my potions stash built up but in the end, I couldn't resist and decided to buy the potions from the shop and open them now. Would have probably taken me a few seasons to save up the additional 100+ potions required.

So after opening 65 packs, here are the cards I got that are worth something:

Legendary Cards:

Gold Foil Cards:

Summoners:

I'm pretty happy with my cards and I will be levelling up some of the common and rare ones so that they are more useful. But the question is - was it better to just buy the cards I want versus buying all these packs?

Total spent was around $260. Looking at the value of my Chaos Legion cards, I got about the same amount back so it was kind of neutral. I'm not including the value of the common cards so it probably was a small net positive.

Personally, I think the price of cards will fall from here to a more sustainable level and then it might make more sense to just buy cards from the market versus the packs. Of course, you won't get the airdrop cards but those you could just buy on the market as well if you want them.
