Over the holidays my guild, Disciples of Helio, has managed to accomplish something of a milestone: Upgrading our Guild Store to level 2!

I know this may not seem huge but this is actually quite an expensive feat. At the moment getting a level 2 store costs 30,000 DEC and 40 Crowns. Now crowns are relatively easy enough to come by, just participating in a few brawls would be enough to hit the 40 mark but 30k DEC is a big undertaking especially for newer players. We will now be focusing on stacking as many wins as we can in preparation for SPS brawl rewards and whatever else they might push our way.

Why does this matter:

There are 2 main benefits to a level 2 store:

1. Increased merits per brawl
2. More importantly access to purchase Gladiator packs in the guild store.

Merits of course are used to purchase guild store related items so having an increased generation rate of course is going to be beneficial. Gladiator packs however are the real benefit. Gladiator cards are incredibly powerful account bound cards that can only be obtained via the guild store. One of the really awesome benefits of the cards is that they count towards CP and airdrop points. This means obtaining level 2 store should be priority number one for most all new guilds.

How we accomplished this:

Disciples of Helio, as many of you are aware, is the sister guild to Acolytes of Helio. What this means is that these two guilds work together to accomplish our goals by pooling our assets to get the maximum benefit possible. Like most guilds, ours has a seasonal membership fee, though unlike other guilds, our fees are both low (50 dec) and paid into a guild account. Although consolidating assets into an account is risky, as that account is ultimately accessible by a human, this allows our assets to accumulate airdrop points instead of simply sitting in the building queues. With both guilds contributing and guild assets earning from themselves we are able to amass assets quickly and reach our goals.

This works primarily on the trust of our leadership not to run off with our toys but so far it has been a monumental success. To ensure that our guild runs smoothly we operate in a manner that is somewhat like a DAO. All of our members have a voice and vote in our decisions and participate in electing our leadership which has access to our guild accounts.

How to join:

To join Disciples of Helio please complete the below steps:

1. Join our Guild Discord channel.
2. Once in discord introduce yourself with a bit of your Splinterlands background and why you are interested.
3. Pay the 50 DEC membership fee to @acolytesofhelio

Guild Requirements:

We strive to have an active membership that is interested in both Splinterlands and the idea of working together. As such we have a few requirements:

1. Keep current with guild membership fees: 50 Dec per season
2. Interact with the guild regularly on Discord. Discord is our primary communication medium
3. Post on Hive. At the end of the day, we value members that value the Hive environment. Our members have all grown their Hive accounts by actively supporting each other and we expect the same from newer members.
4. Consider purchasing at least 1 Cartel token. We work closely with OneUp and the 1UP-Cartel and are considering adding this as a Guild Requirement. Check this post for details on the Cartel.
