4 April 2023 - Afternoon stroll through Pawtucket

PXL_20230404_194101884_modified.jpg

The center of town has a number of grand buildings in it. I am not sure when it was officially established but Europeans first showed up in the 17th century. Prior to that, for a long time, Native tribes called the area home. So, by modern US standards, this is one of the old New England towns, and it has the architecture to prove it.

"Pawtucket" comes from the Algonquian word for "river fall." I think you can see why.

The Blackstone River runs right through he center of Pawtucket. It used to be the linchpin of the textile industry that was one of the main industries in town.

Beautiful city. Have you noticed that there are no people on the streets at all?

It was hot and this part of town is somewhat vacant. Plus, I think some people who were in the street didn't want to be in the frame. Who knows - maybe, the law is after them, or they are just shy. 😁

I believe that a sea or a river always make a city more beautiful than others which just consist of land.

Are the cities they are beautiful because they have more trees and as we can see the water system is also very good which adds to its beauty.
