Some time ago I created a tutorial how to play defense with your Splinterlands line up. In this video I would like to show you how to improve your offense by increasing the speed of your team.

Speed matters a lot

When you play the game, there are rounds and in each round every card plays once. The order in which the cards play is defined by their speed parameter.

In the video I show you how you why speed matters so much and how you can improve the speed of your line up

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in a comment below. I will gladly try to answer :-)

As you said, Splinterlands gameplay is quite complex. Speed offers an advantage but the attacker becomes vulnerable if his cards hit a barrage of retaliate, return fire or reflect magic. It can become a game of attack versus defense.

Sometimes the fight is a lottery, depending on the decks each of the opponents choose and how suitable are they for the opponent's deck and the ruleset. This lottery factor will be reduced when items and spells will be introduced with lands.

That's totally true. I believe that this makes the game so interesting. There is not one way that will allow you to win all the time. Every game depends on the ruleset, on the oponent and also the mana cap. That's why I don't get bored playing it lol

The Creeping Oooze comes in very handing in reducing the speed of your enemy. Speed makes a big difference in most matches. Just watch out for the reverse speed which is a modification to standard gameplay. I was so focused on speed that I overlooked that the first time I encountered it.

I made a jump from gold II to Champions III when I understood how speed really works and how I can shape my strategies around it. It's a critical part of every battle in Spinterlands.

You forgot to mention that at the same pace magic goes first, ranged 2nd & melee 3rd 😉
