En el reto de esta semana quiero hablarles sobre una carta que en lo personal considero tiene un gran potencial, y se adapta a diversos tipos de batallas, su habilidad para hacer daño aleatoriamente es ideal para enfrentar diferentes estrategias. Particularmente, suelo utilizarla en aquellas batallas con un límite de maná alto, combinándola con cualquier Splinter. Chaos Dragon, es un monstruo del Splinter Dragón, es del tipo legendario, y pertenece a la edición Chaos Legion.

Greetings community! In this week's challenge I want to talk about a card that I personally consider has great potential, and adapts to different types of battles, its ability to do random damage is ideal to face different strategies. Particularly, I usually use it in those battles with a high mana limit, combining it with any Splinter. Chaos Dragon, is a Splinter Dragon monster, it is of the legendary type, and belongs to the Chaos Legion edition.

Chaos Dragon es un monstruo con un increíble potencial desde su nivel 1, ya que cuenta con excelentes atributos, y la habilidad “Scattershot”, la cual es bastante útil para contrarrestar el efecto de la habilidad “Taunt” por ejemplo. En contraste con su nivel 2, la única diferencia es que adquiere la habilidad “Blast”, la cual en conjunto a la habilidad “Scattershot”, hacen un combo espectacular, ya que permiten hacer un daño totalmente aleatorio que afecta a los monstruos adyacentes al objetivo principal. Si bien, tiene un costo de maná elevado que limita su uso en partidas con un límite de maná bajo o medio, lo compensa con el gran desempeño que tiene en partidas con un límite de maná alto. Por lo general, uso esta carta en su nivel 2, ya que juego en la liga de Plata en el formato Moderno, y su desempeño es increíble!

Chaos Dragon is a monster with incredible potential from its level 1, since it has excellent attributes and the "Scattershot" ability, which is very useful to counteract the effect of the "Taunt" ability, for example. In contrast to his level 2, the only difference is that he acquires the "Blast" ability, which together with the "Scattershot" ability, makes a spectacular combo, since it allows him to do totally random damage that affects the monsters adjacent to the main target. Although it has a high mana cost that limits its use in games with a low or medium mana limit, it makes up for it with the great performance it has in games with a high mana limit. I usually use this card at its level 2, since I play in the Silver league in the Modern format, and its performance is incredible!

Evidentemente, es mucho más económico alquilar esta carta, por lo que si no cuentas con el presupuesto para adquirirla, alquilarla es una buena opción. ¡Pasemos a la batalla! Como les comenté anteriormente, suelo usar esta carta en partidas con un límite de maná alto. Hoy, les traigo una batalla así, en esta oportunidad combiné el Splinter Dragón y Muerte, aplicando una estrategia con la habilidad “Martyr”. En la siguiente imagen pueden ver las condiciones de la partida.

Let's go to battle! As I mentioned before, I usually use this card in games with a high mana limit. Today, I bring you such a battle, this time I combined Splinter Dragon and Death, applying a strategy with the "Martyr" ability. In the following image you can see the conditions of the game.

Usé a Quix The Devious como invocador para tomar ventaja de los debuff que aplica al enemigo. En la Primera posición usé a Agor Longtail, ya que por sus características es un tanque ideal, además su habilidad “Taunt” permite concentrar todo el daño enemigo en él para dar tiempo a mi composición de debilitar al enemigo. En la Segunda Posición usé a Dragon Jumper con la finalidad de rematar a los monstruos enemigos con poca vida, y proteger al resto resto de la composición en caso de que el tanque muera. En la Tercera posición usé a Venari Marksrat con la finalidad de que cuando muera, incremente los atributos de los monstruos adyacentes para tomar ventaja en la batalla, además también contribuye al daño desde la segunda línea, y debido a la condición de la batalla, será el objetivo directo de los ataques de tipo mágico y de rango enemigos, una vez muera el tanque. En la Cuarta posición usé a Chaos Dragon con la finalidad de debilitar lo más posible a la composición enemiga mediante su daño aleatorio. Por último usé a Lira The Dark con la finalidad de rematar a los monstruos enemigos con poca vida, y proteger al resto de la composición de posibles ataques de tipo “Sneak”. Cabe destacar que la estrategia consiste en debilitar lo más posible la composición enemiga antes de que mi tanque muera, y luego de eso, rematarla una vez que la habilidad “Martyr” haga lo suyo. Otro punto importante es que aunque una de las condiciones de batalla sea “Explosive Weaponry”, el ataque aleatorio de Chaos Dragon sigue siendo un factor que destaca.

I used Quix The Devious as a summoner to take advantage of the debuffs he applies to the enemy. In the first position I used Agor Longtail, because its characteristics make it an ideal tank, and its ability "Taunt" allows me to concentrate all the enemy damage on it to give time to my composition to weaken the enemy. In the Second Position I used Dragon Jumper in order to finish off the enemy monsters with low health, and protect the rest of the composition in case the tank dies. In the Third position I used Venari Marksrat in order to increase the attributes of the adjacent monsters when it dies, to take advantage in the battle, it also contributes to the damage from the second line, and due to the condition of the battle, it will be the direct target of the enemy magic and ranged attacks, once the tank dies. In the fourth position I used Chaos Dragon in order to weaken the enemy composition as much as possible with its random damage. Finally, I used Lira The Dark in order to finish off the enemy monsters with low health, and protect the rest of the composition from possible "Sneak" attacks. It should be noted that the strategy is to weaken the enemy composition as much as possible before my tank dies, and after that, finish it off once the "Martyr" skill does its job. Another important point is that even though one of the battle conditions is "Explosive Weaponry", Chaos Dragon's random attack is still a factor that stands out.

En el turno 6 de la ronda 1, Lira The Dark abatió al Venari Marksrat enemigo. De esta forma, 2 de sus monstruos fueron potenciados gracias a la habilidad “Martyr”, lo que representaba una desventaja para mi. El enemigo planteó una estrategia similar usando la habilidad “Martyr”.

On turn 6 of round 1, Lira The Dark took down the enemy Venari Markstrat. In this way, 2 of their monsters were boosted thanks to the "Martyr" ability, which represented a disadvantage for me. The enemy posed a similar strategy using the "Martyr" skill.

En el turno 3 de la ronda 2, Lira The Dark abatió a Firecaller gracias al daño adyacente de la habilidad “Blast”. De esta forma, el enemigo potenció a 2 de sus monstruos nuevamente, mediante la habilidad “Martyr”, lo que representaba otra desventaja para mí. Sin embargo, su composición ya estaba debilitada, Chaos Dragon y Lira The Dark estaban haciendo su trabajo.

On turn 3 of round 2, Lira The Dark took down Firecaller thanks to the adjacent damage of the "Blast" ability. In this way, the enemy boosted 2 of his monsters again, through the "Martyr" ability, which represented another disadvantage for me. However, their composition was already weakened, Chaos Dragon and Lira The Dark were doing their job.

En el turno 15 de la ronda 2, Chaos Dragon abatió a Sorriel The Bale, y debilitó aún más a sus monstruos adyacentes gracias a la habilidad “Blast”. A esta altura de la partida, mi Venari Marksrat había muerto pero potenció a Chaos Dragon, y Agor Longtail mediante su habilidad “Martyr”. El rumbo de la partida cambió, y ahora el enemigo estaba en desventaja. En el turno 20 de la ronda 2, Agor Longtail abatió a Forgotten One, y debilitó aún más a su monstruo adyacente. El enemigo ya estaba al borde de la derrota. Finalmente, en el turno 1 de la ronda 3, Lira The Dark mató a dos pájaros de un sólo tiro, abatió a Lava Launcher, y con el daño adyacente a Tenyii Striker. Cerrando la batalla con una gloriosa victoria. ¿Qué hizo la diferencia en las estrategias? Pues, el enemigo no usó cartas con resistencia al daño mágico ni un monstruo en la segunda posición con las características adecuadas para proteger al resto de la composición en caso de que su tanque muriera. Y en mi caso, la estrategía planteada funcionó a la perfección, la habilidad “Taunt” y el daño aleatorio de Chaos Dragon cumplieron su objetivo, como pueden observar, tanto Lira The Dark como Chaos Dragon estaban casi intactos al final de la batalla. En las siguientes imágenes pueden observar todo esto.

On turn 15 of round 2, Chaos Dragon took down Sorriel The Bale, and further weakened his adjacent monsters through the "Blast" ability. At this point in the game, my Venari Marksrat had died but powered up Chaos Dragon, and Agor Longtail through his "Martyr" ability. The tide of the game turned, and now the enemy was at a disadvantage. On turn 20 of round 2, Agor Longtail took down Forgotten One, and further weakened its adjacent monster. The enemy was already on the verge of defeat. Finally, on turn 1 of round 3, Lira The Dark killed two birds with one stone, downing Lava Launcher, and with adjacent damage to Tenyii Striker. Closing the battle with a glorious victory. What made the difference in the strategies? Well, the enemy didn't use cards with magic damage resistance or a monster in the second position with the right characteristics to protect the rest of the composition in case their tank died. And in my case, the strategy worked perfectly, the "Taunt" ability and the random damage of Chaos Dragon fulfilled its purpose, as you can see, both Lira The Dark and Chaos Dragon were almost intact at the end of the battle.
