Hi splinter maniacs, this week's battle challenge from @splinterlands is about using the Undead Minotaur in a team, this is a card that I have given many opportunities to battle, but I am not convinced, it is very slow and very weak and I only use it ultimately when there are no other options.

According to my web app, the Undead Minotaur currently has an overall win rate of only 33.33% and a usage percentage of only 0.2% which means that it is a somewhat mediocre card and very little used. However, it is a very economical card to have in our collection and is an ally that can get us out of a hurry in certain situations.

Undead Minotaur abilities

Double Strike
This skill allows the Undead Minotaur to perform double attacks, it is ideal to attack monsters with shield to remove its defense in the first attack, but sometimes this skill can be counterproductive when attacking some monster with spikes or retaliate.
Retaliate
This ability acquires at level 6 and allows it to counterattack when it takes melee damage, this ability has a % chance of being activated or not.

Let's see the Undead Minotaur in this battle.

The line up

Jarlax the Undead
One of my favorite summoners, its low mana cost allows to choose powerful monsters from the black splinter.
Undead Minotaur
I'd really prefer to have another monster for a tank, but I want to meet the challenge.
Gelatinous Cube
My immortal barrier, in case the minotaur does not support enough, it will protect the rest of the team.
Twisted Jester
He'll be the one to do the damage to the enemy lines.
Furious Chicken
A free mana cost card, not to be missed.

The strategy work?

Well, I won the battle and I'd like to say it was because of the Undead Minotaur but I actually think I won because of the Immortal Cube and the Twisted Jester. And the Minotaur's performance was irrelevant, any other tank would have done the same or a better job.

The Undead Minotaur is a difficult card to use, I was looking for a while between several battles in which I had used it and in none of them really stands out, as I said before I think this should be a complementary card to be used as a reinforcement when we don't have a better alternative.

Thanks for reading my post and don't hesitate to leave your comment. See you in the game.

Yes. Agreed. He's useful in very specific rulesets and when there's 'extra mana'. I can't hate it... but it's likely I'll forget about him again soon enough. He's great in Super Sneak (if you get the chance). 😍

Your opponent places a card with spikes covering the rear and the Minotaur is fried, the same for melee mayhem and the starting position. I prefer it in close & personal which is more random who you are dealing with, but not even so, as there are several options with opportunity or sneak.

It's hard to find a place for him.

Thank you very much for your support.
