Some bits of advice for the new splinterlands players
I can understand the pain that the new players on splinterlands feel. The cards are way above affordable and even the rent price is also beyond reach. The price looks crazy even to us veteran players who now regret not hoarding these cards.
Ok, so what are we to do about it?
First things first, try playing and become experienced. You can do a good job even with playable cards. If you play daily and do a little bit of homework by studying battles on the leaderboard and tournaments, you can gain a lot of knowledge about the placement of monsters, the abilities, the techniques that experts use, and so on.
The next step is to go over to hive engine - https://hive-engine.com/ and study the game tokens and try to buy a small amount so that your account 'shows' it. It is easy to login with the help of Keychain which is 100% trustworthy. Why not invest in sps, dec and spt if you have the money to spare? It will be worth it and it is better than paying a lot for a single pack. Make sure you stake the SPS so that you get to buy those Chaos legion packs.
Now, What about joining a guild?
The next step is to join a guild. Take a look at the guilds and study each one. If you come across one that is just perfect for you, try to send a request and wait. If the guild requires you to join the discord or chat groups, join it and get to know the members. Who knows, if they like you, then it is your lucky day. Guilds offer extra dec based on their ranks. That means extra decs per ranked battle and shop discounts and now brawl goodies too. Make sure you follow the guild rules and contribute whenever you can. Submitting brawl battles on time is a requirement and a very important one too.
Spread the word about Splinterlands and post with the tag #play2earn
Splinterlands is based on the Hive blockchain. So, get started and blog about your daily journey on https://www.splintertalk.io/ By doing so, you get SPT tokens too besides hive power and hive/hbd. Based on the SPT you hodl, you get more SPS. Even if it may seem confusing at first, you will get the hang of it very soon. Powering up a few hive tokens also helps.
Have you ever chatted on the discord server of splinterlands? You must do so because it gives a wealth of information and you also get to make friends and could do a direct meet up even but do be careful with your keys and cards though. Even if you do want to help, just lease a card instead of sending it directly. That way, you can always claim it back if the 'friend' you helped turned to be a 'no show' or a scammer.
