Top 30 Organic Engagement through Comments - 20-05-2020
On Hive, we talk a lot about engagement and some of our top authors and stakeholders are also taking lots of initiatives to create more engagement on the Hive blockchain. Engagement comes through reading many posts from other others and adding valuable comments on their posts. I wanted to pull out this data every day from the blockchain and make a post so that authors who are adding more comments and engagement will get motivation.

To start with I had to do lots of manual review work to get rid of the accounts that are either an automated commenting account or spam accounts that add random comments to spam. I came up with the below list of accounts that I have ignored from my report.

The intention of this post is to showcase some of the authors showing good engagement in the Hive community. I'm posting these stats every day so that whales and high stakeholders can have an eye on them and reward their posts and comments.
Congratulations to @tarazkp, @jeffjagoe, and @tattoodjay for reaching First, Second and Third positions yesterday.
If you find any discrepancy in the above list or any accounts that are not supposed to be in that list, please let me know in the comments.

Perhaps you could include the number of upvotes for the comments?
Of course upvotes on comments is an easy statistic to fake. If I were an whale running an upvote harvesting scheme; I would probably have fake conversations in the comment section to hide the scheme.
Accounts in the plankton have probably learned that upvotes on comments get wiped away as dust. So, the upvote count on comments is unreliable metric for the quality of comments.
I thought about the same and you asked a question and you answered it by yourself. Also as this is a consolidated report, the number of votes on the comments may not be very helpful. 😀 But anyway thanks for the suggestion.
This is my next goal... to be on this list one of these days .. watch out for me.. I respect your efforts
Thanks @bhoa. I'm glad that I'm able to inspire you on this. I have to definitely say that it is not very easy to be on that list. I try to engage more every single day and I easily get distracted and it is not happening. If I start reading some articles to write some comments, I get carried away by the post and start searching internet for something else and end up somewhere else. The time will be completely drained. So, engagement definitely needs lots of commitment.
But, I really wish you good luck and wish to see you on the list frequently. All the best 😀

Thank you for mentioning me. I cannot be that active these days. My internet is too slow I cannot load Peakd, hive.blog and only occasionally esteem app. It's good to see some familiar names. 👍
Yes very nice to see several familiar names on here! Sucks you have bad internet, I know how that is lately. Sad how addicted we’ve become to it!
It's not about being addicted it's just no fun if nothing works and you need to wait 5 min or longer till a bit loads plus these days everything you want or need to handle has to be done online. Banking, administration, taxes, appointment with the doctor, etc etc.
I hope your connection will get better. What I have willbe the max there is.

At the moment I have that too also because I do not feel too well plus the weather is getting better and garden work calls.

Wow good to see those numbers, but the first position written around 100 comments in a day. Just wow
Ya I still wonder seeing that. How are people able to add more than 100 comments in just one day. Even if we sit and chat on posts through comments, it can be hard to cross even 50 with the 3 seconds delay we have, and a lot of patience is also required. But I'm getting inspired by that and I also wish to be on my list every day. But not happening. 😀
Yeah I can maximum add around 30 that too if I get 30 minutes of time. For adding 100s of comments we need to be on the chain for 2-3 hours which can happen only in weekends
While writing comments I easily get distracted to go and start reading something random. After a few hours of doing something random I realize that I started all this by reading some articles on Hive and commenting on them. 😀😉
Hahahaha, I happens with lot of people. I try to read and comments first and then hop on to the other articles.
Yes I guess you have some good focus on that. Yesterday I was reading some articles about proposal system and got carried away from there for like 2 hours.
