A SHORT LOOK AT THE DISTANT MOON

(Edited)

It was a summer evening of some undefined year that has taken over the calendar some years ago, a very important year back then, listed everywhere, on TV guides and official documents, just like the 2020 is now.

It was a warm evening ... the crickets were singing ... the night was approaching ...

... and I was staring at the moon ...

DSC03965 malo.jpg

... trying to imagine some imaginary Martians ... because the Moon looked a bit like Mars in those strange, elusive moments between the end of the day and the real night.

Our lovely satellite was even redder some minutes before.

As you maybe already noticed - this is essentially just another rambling post about nothing in particular ... but I'll try to give it some kind of narrative structure ...

DSC03946 malo.jpg

... by rambling backwards.
Some undefined, definitely relatively pretty short amount of time before the rise of the moon ... the sun was going down - practically sinking ...

DSC03947 malo.jpg

... behind a line of cypresses and some meadows and stuff further on the horizon. It was an opposite horizon, the Moon didn't climb up following this path ... I think ... it's all ancient history now, I'm not sure about these technical details.

I took this shot with the camera mounted at the top of my car ... and the roof of my gray Toyota became a quiet lake that reflects the sky and the trees.

An hour before I was driving through the dry summer landscape on my way from the beach ...

DSC03918 malo.jpg

... and some hours before that ... I caught a colorful cricket ... with the camera.

I had a small, old compact camera back then ... half - broken and with many shortcomings ... but it had one cool feature that was functioning pretty well - some kind of night view shooting program.
So when the night finally came, I switched to that greenish view and took another shot ... before going home ... or on some summer party ... who knows ...

This is a post for the - for the #saturdaymemories initiative, initiated by @olga.maslievich

As always in these ramblings on HIVE, the old photographs are my work.

The red moon turned out very nicely.
They say that when there are such colors somewhere on the planet,
there is a big fire, a big fire is burning ... but it's wonderful for me to watch
:)
