@acidyo proposes a posh token to be distributed based on measurable success at promoting Hive on Twitter. The token would be given value to with purchases done by OCD or possibly allocating Decentralized Hive Fund money to it. This is a fantastic idea!

The reason why we should be monetizing marketing and onboarding efforts is game theoretical. The blockchain prints HIVE, HBD and Vest tokens at a predetermined rate and the tokens are given value to by altcoin speculators on exchanges. Except for the largest stakeholders, no individual current user financially benefits from their efforts to market the platform and onboard new users. On the contrary, onboarding successful new users means fewer rewards for all old users including the onboarder owing to the zero-sum competition over author rewards. This can be remedied by introducing mechanisms to measure and monetize everyone's marketing and onboarding efforts. This is how you bridge the incentive gap and solve the coordination problem.

@acidyo's post is therefore vital to the long-term growth and success of the platform and I'm hoping for many more to be developed. Promising initiatives like this are what the Decentralized Hive Fund should be used for.
