Thursday Tubular Journey: Engelhard American Prospector Silver Round #6

avatar
(Edited)

One of my stacking goals for the year 2020 is to document on Hive my journey to complete a tube of American Prospector Silver Rounds that were produced by the Engelhard Mint. These rounds are no longer in production and were on a limited run from 1982 to 1987.

Four months ago, I started sharing my progress with you.

Last month we left off at a total of 10 Engelhard Prospector rounds: Two 1982s, five1984s, two 1986, and one 1987.

This package came two weeks ago from an eBay seller, who I am sure is waiting for me to leave feedback on this transaction. As always, I negotiated for a better price than advertised, and I got this one silver round for an awesome price!

It was a fellow stacker, @silverd510, who suggested that I search out the 1985 year issue of the Engelhard American Prospector because it is now scarce. So I did and found this one. It is a BU silver Engelhard round, and it is certainly pretty!

1985 1 oz Silver Round - Engelhard Prospector

(Eagle Reverse)

This Silver round was the fourth year of issue of Engelhard Mint from the

famous American Prospector series.

Obverse: Depicts a prospector panning for Gold, the words "U.S.A.", the year of issue and "The American Prospector."

Reverse: Displays an American Eagle along with the weight and purity of the round.

I now have a total of 11 Engelhard Prospector rounds:

Two 1982s, five1984s, two 1986, one 1985, and one 1987

😍#ilikeitalot!!!😍

The tube goes back inside the cigar Silver Box for safekeeping. We will revisit the cigar Silver Box again

on the next edition of Thursday Tubular Journey.

Come along with me in my journey to complete

a tube of Engelhard American Prospector Silver Rounds!

Very nice 85 bestie. Now the only other year that’s good is a 1983. The rest are all the same mintage pretty much. Nice pick up

You are right, I have to get at least one 1983. But goodness, they are pricey! One will do. And then the next ones can be whichever is priced right, LOL! Slow and steady, bestie!
Have a terrific evening, and take care, bestie 🥰🌺🤙

Woot, woot, I found one and made an offer. I was surprised that the seller gave it to me at the price I asked for without a counter offer! Cool!!!! Depending on how fast he ships it, I may get it in time for next Thursday!, Yay!!! Thanks, bestie 🥰🌺🤙

It is amazing how our stack grows in time. It is all so worth it... being able to store value in precious metals. Better than putting your fiat on stuff and fluff! The question is, when is it enough? I've seen an incredible amount of silver stacked by a friend in YT, and it makes me wonder when, and it ever he'll convert those to gold. Gosh, silver takes up so much space!
Enjoy your evening as well, my friend! Take care 🥰🌺🤙

@silversaver888 you will just need a bigger house Lol!!!🙄😇
Strange how some people understand this, and stack and save, and others just spend!
Stay the course my friend, and have a wonderful evening😍😍😀

I like the design very much! Last year, I was on a journey to complete a tube of silver rounds with the trade unit design reverse and the iconic Statue of Liberty obverse. It was a fun journey! I am very eager to complete this tube of Engelhards and start another tube of something special. I think that doing this makes my stacking journey interesting and enjoyable. Have a wonderful evening, @maddogmike, and take care 🥰🌺🤙

A Canadian Ebay seller had an 1984 but it was a bit high priced so I just couldn't pull the trigger. I've only got one Prospector Round and the was a gift I recall from David Argento through SilverTorch66.
Always, with love 🌺 💝 🌹 💓 🌸 🌼

It appears that sellers have kept the high premiums over spot in silver from when silver spot was down at $14.00. If it continues to be so, then I will probably hold off in buying silver... maybe just focus in fractional AU. Or be like Cull Silver... if the price is not right, he does not get a single ounce of silver or gold for months! I wish... but I am not that disciplined, LOL! David travels to Italy a bit. Is he Italian?
Have a great shift tonight, my lovely sis @kerrislravenhill! Take care 🥰🌺🤙 lots of love and a million hugs and kisses 🤗💕💋!

I am finally back to commenting. I had a few problems posting as @ronavel. I was downvoted and muted because of plagiarism. Then I was told that I was plagiarizing @ronaldoavelino.
Now I think everything is all right and I am back.
Take care, my friend!

It never amazes me to live the reality of stacking... gosh, it is unbelievable what one accumulates just by adding one piece of silver... one ounce at a time. I think that this was the reason why I made it a goal for this year to share this tubular journey. It reinforces to me and demonstrates to others (who care to know) that the mantra of saving slow and steady has merits. It is not how much one makes, but how much one is able to save.
Have a great weekend, my, sweet sis @elizabethbit. Take care 🥰🌺🤙 and lots of love and hugs 🤗💕
