So I Finally Watched PS5's UX Trailer: My Impression and Concerns

"User friendly." That's how I would describe the PS5 user interface, from what we've seen from it so far.

Sony released a new State of Play premiere showcasing what's the PlayStation 5's user interface and some of the new features. Many of which are cool and well thought! You can see the video below:

Everything about the UX interests me. The Cards System is very cool and feels like two-steps above the 'application list' in PS4. The system uses the fast processing and storage reading of the PS4 to provide seamless experience.

There are many, many community features showcased in the video, from improved chat groups to an Achievement System, I never thought it was possible: Video hints in the Achievements tab!

PS Store is now part of the interface's system instead of a separate app. This might be the reason Sony is getting rid the store of PS3/PSP/PS Vita apps, so I'm not sure if it's worth it. But the idea itself is great and I'm surprised that Sony didn't try it sooner~

Concerns~

Since the showcase was pre-recorded, Sony must have choosen what to show us carefully. This can be useful and harmful at the same time, because after watching the best features used/described in the best way possible, (which is a brilliant advertisement,) people will have increased hype for PS5 now.

If Sony fell short of any of the expectations they created by now, there might be a huge backlash from the fans! That's my only concern after watching the video. The system is so robust that it'll be hard for developers to use it at full capacity. Fans will be disappointed if that happened.

Now, I don't plan on getting a PS5 this year and I might wait until a cheaper/Slim version of the system to release before getting one. I might get one sooner if I sold my PS4, but with PS5's Backward Compatibility, used PS4's prices will plummet where I live, so I'll still need to save up anyway.

I also have concerns about PlayStation voice recording, but that's not unique to PS5 as PS4's now record everything you say online in case of harassment. That's a talk for another article...

What do you think?

Did you watch that State of Play show? What do you think of the new features? Do you have any concerns? I hope a discussion stems from this.
