GTA 4 has the best story of all GTA, and that I can affirm, from its visual aesthetics with a depressing color palette that makes you see everything in shades of gray, and it is not because the graphics are bad as it is the same Rockstar RAGE engine used in GTA5, if not look at its dlc the ballad of the gay tony that is aesthetically striking and very colorful.

The story takes place in an update of the old Liberty City, where Niko Bellic, a man of Slavic ethnicity, war veteran and has Serbian as his native language, comes to America in search of the "American dream", partly attracted by the lies of his cousin Roman, as he told him that he lived in a mansion with several sports cars and many beautiful girls. Also, throughout the game, Niko will seek revenge on the people who betrayed him in the war, while his existence is complicated by his cousin and other characters he will meet in the city. Niko Bellic is constantly receiving jobs where most of them are murdering people for money, he is the character who has the most deaths to his name in the entire GTA saga.

GTA 4 tiene la mejor historia de todos los GTA, y eso lo puedo afirmar, desde su estética visual con un paleta de colores deprimente que te hace ver todo en tonos de grises, y no es porque los graficos son malos ya que es el mismo motor RAGE de Rockstar usado en GTA5, si no mira su dlc the ballad of the gay tony que es estéticamente llamativo y muy colorido.

La historia transcurre en una actualización de la antigua Liberty City, donde Niko Bellic, un hombre de etnia eslávica, veterano de guerra y tiene como lengua materna el serbio, llega a América en busca del "sueño americano", en parte atraído por las mentiras de su primo Roman, pues le dijo que vivía en una mansión con varios coches deportivos y muchas chicas hermosas. Además, durante todo el juego, Niko buscará vengarse de la gente que lo traicionó en la guerra, mientras se complica su existencia por su primo y otros personajes que conocerá en la ciudad. Niko Bellic esta constantemente recibiendo trabajos en donde su mayoría es asesinar personas por dinero, es el personaje que lleva mas muertos a su nombre en toda la saga GTA.

In all the history that develops around the character of Niko, this carries with it an immense thirst for revenge to kill the one who betrayed him and his squad when he was in the war, in which two managed to escape, one was Florian Cravic and the other is Darko Brevic. They together with Goran, Millet, Dmitar, Drazan and eight of their best friends were sent to find and eliminate a platoon that had killed many innocent people. But the mission failed, and from a deadly trap only Florian, Niko and Darko survived and escaped. Soon after, Niko realized that he had been betrayed, leaving only two suspects: Florian and Darko.

En toda la historia que se desarrolla en torno al personaje de niko, este lleva consigo una inmensa sed de venganza para matar a aquel que lo traiciono y a su escuadron de cuando estaba en la guerra, en los cuales dos lograron escapar, uno fue Florian Cravic y el otro es Darko Brevic. Ellos junto Goran, Mijo, Dmitar, Drazan y ocho de sus mejores amigos fueron enviados a buscar y eliminar un pelotón que había asesinado a mucha gente inocente. Pero la misión fracasó, y de una trampa mortal solo sobrevivieron Florian, Niko y Darko, que escaparon. Poco después, Niko se dio cuenta de que había sido traicionado, quedando dos únicos sospechosos: Florian y Darko.

Meanwhile, Florian flees to America and completely rebuilds his life. Thanks to Ray Boccino, Niko is reunited with Florian first, Florian finds him and Niko realizes that he now looks very different, with dyed blond hair, effeminate clothes, that he is the gay boyfriend of the son of the deputy mayor, who is supposedly anti-gay, and has changed his name to Bernie Crane.

Florian assumes, very quickly, that Niko thinks he is the traitor and that he came to kill him, but disappoints him, replying that he didn't do it and that he always suspected Darko more than him. Niko, in desperation, yells at him that they have to find him.

Entretanto, Florian huye a América y rehace su vida por completo. Gracias a Ray Boccino, Niko se reencuentra con Florian primero, este lo encuentra y niko se da cuenta de el ahora se ve muy diferente, con el cabello teñido de rubio,ropa afeminada, que es gay novio de el hijo de el teniente del alcalde, que es supuestamente antigay, y se ha cambiado el nombre a Bernie Crane.

Florian asume, muy rápidamente, que Niko piensa que él es el traidor y que vino a matarlo, pero lo decepciona, respondiendo que él no fue y que siempre sospechó de Darko más que de él. Niko, desesperado, le grita que tienen que encontrarlo.

The story progresses in GTA and there is no more clue of Darko until you reach the mission called That Special Someone, it is the last mission that Edward T. Fortune. After Edward's call, Niko calls Roman to go to the airport, where he is told to deliver Darko. After arriving Darko is taken out of the van by two bodyguards and left there with his hands tied.

This is one of the saddest and most dramatic scenes of all GTA, I was too shocked to see it when I played and I was only 11 years old, I did not understand the background of everything until I played it again when I was older.

La historia avanza en GTA y no hay mas ninguna pista de Darko hasta llegar a la misión llamada That Special Someone, es la última misión que Edward T. Fortune. Luego de la llamada de Edward, Niko llama a Roman para ir hasta el areopuerto, lugar donde le dicen que le sea entregado Darko. Luego de llegar Darko es bajado de la camioneta por dos guardespaldas y dejado allí con las manos atadas.

Esta es una de las escenas más tristes y dramáticas de toda GTA, me impacto demasiado al verla cuando jugaba y apenas tenía unos 11 años, no logre comprender el trasfondo de todo hasta que lo volví a jugar estando mayor.

Niko asks him why he did it, because he betrayed his entire squad, while naming each of them. Darko said they were friends, but he had other friends as Niko throws him to the ground once again. Darko claims that Goran and his men killed those friends of Darko's, his neighbors. Darko rubs it in Niko's face that Goran killed them for nothing but lies.

Niko le pregunta porque lo hizo, porque traiciono a todo su escuadrón, mientras nombra a cada uno de ellos. Darko dijo que eran amigos, pero que él tenía otros amigos mientras Niko lo arroja al suelo una vez más. Darko asegura que Goran y sus hombres mataron a esos amigos de Darko, sus vecinos. Darko le restriega a Niko que Goran los mató por nada mas que mentiras.

Niko says that doesn't justify his actions, since he betrayed his friends behind their backs. Darko excuses himself that he makes bad decisions because he's a shit, Niko doesn't believe him and asks him how much money he got for betraying them. Darko starts laughing sarcastically and says it was for a hundred dollars. Niko is destroyed inside and in a much more dramatic voice says that he doesn't understand how Darko could sell his friends out for 100 dollars, Darko even more defiantly asks Niko how much he charges to kill someone?

Niko dice que eso no justifica sus acciones, ya que traiciono a sus amigos por la espalda. Darko se escusa de que el toma malas deciciones porque es una mierda, Niko no le cree y le pregunta cuanto dinero le dieron por traicionarlos. Darko empieza a reir sarcásticamente y dice que fueron por cien dólares. Niko se destruye por dentro y en una voz mucho mas dramática dice que no entiende como Darko pudo vender a sus amigos por 100 dolares?, Darko aun mas desafiante le pregunta a Niko cuanto cobra el por matar a alguien?

Niko yells at him that he ruined everything, Darko assures him that he did it out of necessity. Niko calls him a drug addict, so Darko gets on his knees and asks Niko to kill him, while calling him a hypocrite (you start to see the point). Roman asks Niko to leave because Darko already has his life ruined and killing him would do him a favor, he already knows what he did and with that he will live his whole life.

Niko le grita que lo arruino todo, Darko asegura que lo hizo por necesidad. Niko le dice drogadicto, asi que Darko se pone de rodillas y le pide a Niko que lo mate, mientras lo llama hipócrita (empiezas a ver el punto). Roman le pide a Niko que se vayan porque ya Darko tiene su vida arruinada y matándolo le haría un favor, ya sabe lo que hizo y con eso vivirá toda la vida.

Darko is a criticism of everything we have done playing Niko throughout the game, killing people just for money, even Niko doesn't like the people he works for, the lives for him are worth nothing just like Darko the lives of his friends were only worth 100 dollars.

Darko es una crítica a todo lo que hemos hecho interpretando a Niko en todo el juego, matar a personas solo por dinero, incluso a Niko no le agrada las personas a las cuales el trabaja, las vidas para el no valen nada asi como Darko las vidas de sus amigos solo valían 100 dólares.

If you kill him, you will have the longest and bloodiest execution of all GTA. Niko uses the gun twice to Darko's legs, once to the knee, making him fall prostrate. Niko shoots three times to Darko's back, who only manages to mutter "Thank you", and fall down lying down, but with his head up. Niko shoots Darko's cheeks about six more times, making twelve shots for the twelve who died for his betrayal. Then you leave there in the car with Roman, Niko turns off the radio while driving (the only time in the game where it happens).

Si lo matas, tendras la ejecución mas larga y sangrienta de toda GTA. Niko utiliza la pistola dos veces a las piernas de Darko, una a la rodilla, haciéndolo caer postrado. Niko dispara tres veces a la espalda de Darko, el cual solo logra murmurar "Gracias", y caer acostado, pero con la cabeza erguida. Niko dispara a las mejillas de Darko unas seis veces más, siendo doce disparos por los doce que murieron por su traición. Luego te vas de allí en el coche con Roman, Niko apaga la radio al conducir (única vez en el juego donde pasa).

In case you killed him, Niko feels a huge emptiness, he doesn't know how to feel and it's not what he expected, Roman says that how is it possible that Niko doesn't know how he feels? Niko simply says that he feels empty to which Roman says that at least that's something. In his voice there is an immense sadness in his voice too.

En caso de haberlo matado, Niko siente un vacio inmenso, no sabe como sentirse y no es lo que esperaba, Roman dice que como es posible que niko no sepa como se siente?. Niko simple y sencillamente dice que se siente vacío a lo que Roman dice que al menos eso ya es algo. En su voz se nota una tristeza inmensa también.

Niko assures Niko that it's nothing as he wanted to kill Darko to get rid of the emptiness as he's been empty since that day, so he thought that by killing Darko he could fill that emptiness a bit but nothing has gone as he planned, so he asks Roman if that makes him happy. Roman gets upset and replies to Niko that it doesn't make him happy but maybe it's good for Niko since now he'll be able to focus on other things once he knew that revenge isn't what he needed, focus on healthy things. Niko comments that maybe it is, although right now he doesn't know, so he continues on his way to Brucie's house.

Niko asegura que no es nada, ya que quería matar a Darko para librarse del vacío ya que ha estado vacío desde ese día, así que creyó que matando a Darko podía llenar un poco ese vacío pero que nada ha sido como lo planeó, así que le pregunta a Roman si eso lo alegra. Roman se molesta y le responde a Niko que eso no lo alegra pero quizá sea bueno para Niko ya que ahora podrá dedicarse a otras cosas una vez que supo que la venganza no es lo que necesitaba, dedicarse a cosas sanas. Niko comenta que quizá si, aunque ahora mismo no lo sabe, así que sigue su camino a casa de Brucie.

In case he had let Darko live, Roman comments to Niko that he has done the right thing and even if he is not sure about it, he should be proud that he did the right thing. Niko comments to Roman that they better go throw a party and pop the champagne as he has let live a junkie, sick, traitorous man he had been hunting for over a decade so, sarcastically, he asks for someone to give him the keys to the city.

En caso de haber dejado vivir a Darko, Roman le comenta a Niko que el ha hecho lo correcto y aunque no este seguro de ello, debe estar orgulloso de haber hecho lo correcto. Niko le comenta a Roman que mejor vayan a dar una fiesta y que descorchen el champagne ya que ha dejado vivir a un yonqui, enfermo y traidor al cual le había estado dando caza durante más de una década así que, sarcásticamente, pide que alguien le dé las llaves de la ciudad.

Roman asks Niko about why he spared him, to which Niko says he doesn't know since he had long wanted to kill him but he would just be dead like everyone else. Niko says he survived but life is hard. Niko says that nothing would happen if he killed him, just as nothing would change as revenge would not close the book on what he has seen. Niko reflects as he comments that only those who rest die, while the living do not. Roman asks him to keep living and try to be happy. Niko comments that he will try and continues on his way.

Roman le pregunta a Niko sobre el porqué lo perdonó, a lo que Niko dice que no lo sabe, ya que desde hace mucho quería matarlo pero que simplemente estaría muerto como todos. Niko dice que sobrevivió pero que la vida es difícil. Niko dice que nada pasaría si lo mataba, al igual que nada cambiaría ya que la venganza no cerraría el libro de lo que ha visto. Niko reflexiona mientras comenta que solo mueren los que descansan, mientras que los vivos no lo hacen. Roman le pide que siga viviendo y que trate de ser feliz. Niko comenta que lo intentará y sigue su camino.

In conclusion, revenge is not bad, only the motive of that revenge can be bad or not, executing someone because he sold others for money while you kill for money is fair? No, and after you take revenge what do you feel? Joy? Happiness? Just an emptiness of having nipped something in the bud all at once, something you became. The course of life must go on, the system goes on and you will be stepped on or you will step on others for a good, to criticize others for actions that you also do is to be very hypocritical, and that feeling is painful.

En conclusión, la venganza no es mala, solo el móvil de esa venganza puede ser malo o no, ajusticiar a alguien porque vendió a otros por dinero mientras tu matas por dinero es justo? No, y luego de que te vengues que sientes? Alegría? Felicidad? Solo un vacio de haber cortado algo de raíz de una sola vez, a algo en lo que tú te convertiste. El curso de la vida debe seguir, el sistema sigue y serás pisado o pisaras a otros por un bien, criticar a otros por acciones que tu también haces es ser muy hipócrita, y ese sentimiento es doloroso.
