Bozzlife: Games Galore!

Computer games have become a huge industry across the world. If you would have told me in my youth that people would one day be playing video games in a competitive atmosphere for scholarships and prizes I would have laughed at you.

More recently, we have seen the dawn of computer games on the blockchain and if that interests you in any way, shape, or form, the next month is going to be very exciting to say the least.

Splinterlands

If you have logged in lately, you have noticed that some changes have been made to Splinterlands. Gone are the days of bots and easy wins. The game feels more like the days when the game first came out. Each match is a true battle and you need to have your best cards leveled up if you want to advance.

I am relegated to the Diamond I tier which I may not even make before the end of the season. I feel like I keep taking one step forward and two steps back. I have been selling off some of my unused cards and it is likely I will not level up any of my existing ones. I have my sites on some other games if I wanted to spend some money.

I do think it is going to be game changing for Splinterlands when they finally introduce the land sale. I will probably be kicking myself for not holding on to more of my DEC.

Rising Star

I have also started playing Rising Star on the Hive blockchain. It only took about three months of posting by @steevc and @slobberchops to finally convince me to join in. The game is getting ready to move from Alpha to Beta which will be really exciting.

If you have been looking at the game but haven't dove in yet, now is a good time to. I have a feeling there is going to be a pretty big pump in users when they move into Beta. You can play the game with zero initial investment (though spending a little Hive does help).

Check it out and let your inner rock god thrash!

Crypto Brew Master

Egged on by the same two mentioned above, I started messing around with Crypto Brew Master as well. It is a fairly easy game to understand, craft materials and then use those materials to make beer. Finally, sell the beer for CBM's which can be exchanged on the Hive Engine. Much the same as the Starbits in the game above.

If you are looking for some easy mindless fun where you can kind of "set it and forget it" for a while, check those two games out.

Nine Chronicles

Moving away from the Hive blockchain, I have also been looking at a handful of other games. One of them is Nine Chronicles. I was lucky enough to take part in an early access beta of the game and I have to admit it looks pretty cool.

It kind of reminds me of EOS Knights where there is a large focus on crafting items and the combat is handled automatically by the computer.

One of the things I am really excited about is the fact that there is going to be a stand alone CPU miner in addition to the actual game. I really loath the fact that I missed the boat on doing some CPU mining of BTC way back in the day, so I like to get my foot in the door early when I hear about other opportunities.

The team is really involved in this one and just recently they pushed back the launch to October instead of releasing a product they weren't 100% satisfied with. I think that speaks volumes.

Alien Worlds

I honestly can't tell you a lot about Alien Worlds, but this is another game I was lucky enough to get some early access to. They haven't really released anything yet, but when they do I might do a more lengthy post dedicated to just that.

I can tell you their Telegram channel is growing like crazy and is generally a very active place through the day. I have a feeling it is going to be similar to Prospectors.io, but I could be totally wrong.

If the idea of owning land, mining, and exploring new worlds is your cup of tea, you might want to check this one out.

Prospectors

Speaking of Prospectors, in case you missed it, there is a new expansion coming out called Boomtown. I just recently started playing Prospectors, so I am still learning the ropes, but I know there are a lot of people who have had a lot of fun and actually made a bit of coin playing the game.

Dark Country

Dark Country has been on my radar for quite a while now. There are still a ton of details coming out, but it is basically going to be a trading card game based on NFT's. Similar to Splinterland's you will own the cards and you can sell, transfer, and delegate them as you see fit.

From what I can tell, the playstyle is going to be more in the vein of Magic the Gathering or Hearthstone. They have also recently released packs that contain Heroes. The Heroes will serve a different function in the game.

I have heard talk of permadeath zones as well. The rewards are supposed to be awesome there, but so are the risks. If you die, you lose your card forever. It gets burned, so be careful.

If you are into some gothic American mythology and you like this style of game, check it out on the WAX blockchain. You can easily sign up for a WAX Cloud Wallet account with an email address or other social media account here.

KOGS

Finally, the last one I want to talk about is KOGS. I was a little to old by the time POGS became popular to really get into them. If you don't know, they were the milk cap flipping and trading game that began its popularity in Hawaii in the 1920's and had a mild resurgence in the mainland in the late 80's/early 90's I think.

Kog's is based on the WAX blockchain and uses virtual Pog's in the form of NFT's to play the game. Packs are no longer on sale, but you can pick them up on the secondary markets. I actually have some unopened packs that I have quadrupled my money on and the game hasn't even officially launched yet.

This is one that I am really going to be keeping my eye on.

I am really excited about the development that is happening on the WAX blockchain. They have fixed a lot of the issues that people had with EOS and created a fast/inexpensive blockchain to perform transactions on. One of the best parts... No gas fees!

Sorry this was so long, I guess I had a lot to talk about!

I've never played splinterlands, should I give it a try? I've always been pretty bad at card games.

It can be fun at first. I have gotten to the point where I can't really do better unless I spend more money. I have never been that great at card games either. I still play it pretty much every day since the launch.

The games are multiplying fast. I just cannot take on too many to play. There is a new soccer management one on Hive, but that does not interest me as much and you have to buy something to start played.

Have fun.

I saw the soccer management one. I don't now enough about soccer to really be involved in it. If it was something like fantasy football (American) I might have an interest in it.

I really don't know as it wanted me to pay before I can look at anything. It ought to be possible to see something before you commit.
