3 hours in and the game is just beginning
It's gonna be a wild ride
So far, I am loving the Assassin's Creed: Odyssey game. I have been playing for just a bit over 3 hours now and I just got to the actual start of the game. Too bad I adjusted the volume of the game right when I took this screenshot though...
You start the game and can choose between being a male or female character. From everything that I read about the game prior to me playing it, the female character's voice acting is a lot better, so I went with the female character.
Your character's name is Kassandra and the setting is ancient Greece during the Peloponnesian War. You are a descendant of King Leonidas and it seems your main goal is to reunite your broken family. All while killing anyone that stands in your way.
The beginning area of the game is an island called Kephallonia, in which you are a mercenary for hire. You are being chased by a dude named The Cyclops, which is in the above shot, because of some debts you and your friend Markos owe.
One of the first missions you do is to sneak into The Cyclop's home and steal his eye, which is made from obsidian and gold. When you finally meet up with him, you end up sticking his eye in the butthole of a goat and telling him he needs to fetch it himself if he wants it.
Well, he doesn't chase after the goat to get his eye back, but instead him and his shitty henchmen try and kill you for it, but you easily take them all out and save the old dude that he was torturing.
Turns out this old dude is a captain and has a whole crew and a ship. Good new because you are in need of a ship and crew so that you can go across the sea and kill some war general named The Wolf.
So you join Barnabas and his crew and set off to go and kill The Wolf. Turns out that The Wolf is Nikolaos of Sparta, and that is your father.
So when Kassandra was little, she lived in Sparta and the oracles said that a baby, which was her sibling would be the downfall of Sparta if it wasn't sacrificed.
Kassandra and her family were forced to watch as the oracle got ready to throw the baby off of the cliff.
Kassandra's mother pleaded with the oracle to stop and not go through with the sacrifice.
The oracle ends up throwing the baby off the cliff to its death, but Kassandra breaks free and pushes him off the cliff as well. Now this angers the other oracles and they claim that she must now be thrown off as well to appease the Gods.
Her mother pleads with Nikolaos to not listen to them and to save their daughter.
In the end, Nikolaos ends up tossing her over the cliff's edge as well. But Kassandra doesn't die and she ends up washing ashore to a beach and meeting Markos, who raises her.
So now Kassandra is beginning her journey to go and finish the contract of killing her own father. This has been a pretty amazing story so far and it is just starting. Now I see why this is the best Assassin's Creed game out there. There really aren't many games of this size that end up delivering such a great story. I am looking forward to continuing this game and seeing how this all plays out.
One of the cool things about this game is that your decisions have an impact on the storyline and there are many different outcomes. I have not yet decided if I am going to actually kill Nikolaos when I face him. I wonder if they even know that Kassandra is alive. So far this game has delivered on all fronts and I excited to continue...

tokens.This GIF never gets old.
lol. I like kicking people off cliffs like that.
I wish that Kick ability was in Valhalla, I used it A LOT! I am finding the abilities nowhere near as useful, they were better in Odyssey.
Ya. This game is amazing. I have been sailing all over just attacking boats. I am looking forward to the story lines that other people have created too.
Those Mercs follow you on ships too, so watch out!
