Hive Gaming Community - Best Video Game Memories || My first "Nintendo" | Mi primer "Nintendo"
Es la primera vez que publico en la comunidad de Hive Gaming y que mejor que en un concurso para compartir los mejores recuerdos con los videojuegos.
Welcome to a new post. It's the first time I publish in the Hive Gaming community and what better than a contest to share the best memories with the videogames.
Mi historia como "gamer" comienza en 2001 a la edad de 8 años. Uno de mis primos mayores me regaló su Super Nintendo porque se había comprado el Nintendo Game Cube. Lo sé, son como 11 años después del lanzamiento del Super Nintendo, pero pues realmente mi familia nunca fue de ingresos moderados para poder otorgarme un lujo como ese, así que la emoción que sentí en el momento pues fue increíble, por primera vez tenía un "nintendo" en mis manos.
My story as a gamer begins in 2001 at the age of 8. One of my older cousins gave me his Super Nintendo because he had bought the Nintendo Game Cube. I know, it's like 11 years after the launch of the Super Nintendo. Still, my family was never really of moderate-income to give me a luxury like that, so the emotion I felt was incredible. For the first time, I had a "Nintendo" in my hands.
Todo emocionado corrí a la tele para instalarlo y jugar. Oh, sorpresa!, no podía jugar porque mi tele no tenía el adaptador necesario para hacerlo. Y no!, no era un adaptador a cable RCA, sino al mítico separador de señal banda UHF/VHF. Si no saben de lo que les hablo, que dudo mucho, ya que algunos de aquí pues ya tenemos algunos añitos jajaja, les dejo las siguientes imágenes para que sientan nostalgia pura.
All excited, I ran to the TV to install it and play. Oh, surprise, I could not play because my TV did not have the necessary adapter to do so. And no, it was not an adapter to RCA cable, but to the mythical UHF/VHF band signal separator. If you do not know what I am talking about, I doubt very much since some of us here already have some years, hahaha. I leave you the following images.
Este adaptador duró aproximadamente como una semana en que lo consiguieran, recuerdo que mi abuelo† llegó y me dijo "Renecito" mira lo que te traje. Uff! fuí el niño más feliz del mundo en ese momento.
This adapter lasted about a week when they got it. I remember my grandfather† came and said, "Renecito", look what I brought you. I was the happiest kid in the world at the time.
Los juegos que venían junto con la consola los recuerdo a la perfección, estos eran:
- Super Mario World
- Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
- The Lion King
- Killer Instinct
- Scooby-Doo Mystery
- Top Gear
The games that came with the console I remember correctly, these were:
- Super Mario World
- Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
- The Lion King
- Killer Instinct
- Scooby-Doo Mystery
- Top Gear
Con estos juegos pasé horas y horas de diversión. Evidentemente en aquellos tiempos no sabía nada de inglés, así que, fue todavía mejor saber que algunos juegos los llegué a completar al 100%, o como se decía comúnmente les llegué a dar la vuelta. El juego de Scooby-Doo lo recuerdo muy bien, por que de plano no tenía idea de lo que debía de hacer pero aun así logré terminar el juego. Lo mejor era cuando a las prisas me apuraba para anotar los "passwords" que el juego daba para no perder el progreso.
I spent hours and hours of fun with these games. Evidently, I didn't know anything about English in those times, so it was even better to know that some games I completed 100%, or as it was commonly said, I turned them around. I remember the Scooby-Doo game very well because I had no idea what I was supposed to do, but I still managed to finish it. The best thing was when I was in a hurry to write down the passwords that the game gave to not lose progress.
De esos juegos, mi favorito sin duda alguna era Super Mario World, avanzar nivel tras nivel, descubrir caminos secretos me llenaba de emoción y hacían que me "engranara" más en el juego. Cuando descubrí el "mundo de la estrellita", siempre iba a agarrar el Yoshi azul para irme volando en los niveles.
Of those games, my favorite was undoubtedly Super Mario World, advancing level after level, discovering secret paths filled me with excitement. They made me "engage" more in the game. When I found the "world of the little star," I would always grab the blue Yoshi and fly through the levels.
Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, fue el juego más complicado de los que tenía, recuerdo muy bien que una vez había jugado por horas y como el juego no podía guardarse deje encendida la consola para jugar al día siguiente. Lamentablemente ya no pude continuar donde me había quedado porque mi mamá apagó la consola argumentando que eso gastaba demasiada energía eléctrica. Actualmente la entiendo 😅.
Aaahh!! Real Monsters, was the most complicated game I had, I remember very well that once I had played for hours and as the game could not be saved leave the console on to play the next day. Unfortunately, I could not continue where I had left off because my mom turned off the console, arguing that it was using too much electricity. I now understand her 😅.
En fin, con esta consola viví muchas experiencias bonitas y me hace recordar tantas cosas que pasé para poder completar los juegos. De niño solo llegaba de la escuela, comía, hacía mi tarea y a pasar horas de diversión. Después de eso tuve más consolas, pero creo que siempre marcó un antes y un después en mis gustos por los videojuegos.
Anyway, with this console, I lived many beautiful experiences. It makes me remember so many things that I went through to complete the games. As a child, I only came from school, ate, did my homework, and spent hours of fun. After that, I had more consoles, but I think it always marked a before and after for video games.

Hey did you ever get to play fzero on your snes? I loved that game. Id get excited to play it every time i could.
fzero never had it in physics, but when the emulators came out I played it and it's great!
La mayoría de los juegos de plataformas me costaba un montón poder pasarlos hahaha, ese juego del Rey León lo jugué y recuerdo que habían partes en donde me complicaba bastante.
Eso es lo que siempre me ha gustado de los juegos de plataformas, su dificultad jajaja, el juego del Rey León me tomó bastante terminarlo, sobre todo en los niveles cuando Simba ya es adulto.

Tenías juegos super divertidos, me encantan! No sabía que había un juego de Scooby-Doo woow, me imagino que debe ser demasiado fabuloso.
Por cierto, no se que tan seguido te lo dicen, me encanta esa imagen al final del post.
En aquel tiempo para mí eran los más divertidos, después supe que estaban catalogados como de los mejores juegos del SNES y yo así de :O. El juego de Scooby-Doo, ahora que ya sé inglés está super genial.

Sin duda Super Mario World es el juego que recuerdo con más cariño de todos los que mencionas, sin embargo siempre hacía trampa y me iba por el Star Road para llegar rápido al mundo 8, algún día tengo que disponerme a pasarlo "legalmente".
Creo que no soy tan viejo como para haber llegado a sufrir con ese adaptador, para entonces ya existían los RCA, pero me hago una idea del sufrimiento que debía ser no poder utilizar la consola al momento, cuando me regalaron mi PS1 me pasó algo similar pero con el adaptador de corriente, pues necesitaba conectarle algo extra para que pudiera funcionar, ahorita no recuerdo el nombre preciso la verdad.
Un post bien desarrollado, suerte en el concurso.
Jajaja ese Star Road nos ahorraba mucho camino xD.
El RCA vino a salvarnos y facilitarnos la vida.
