The Last Chapter | Red Dead Redemption 2

Us gamers, I know we've all felt this; as we keep on advancing in a game's main storyline, sometimes, we can just somehow sense the ending creeping up on us. And right now, not only can I feel it, but I can see the hints too.

But that's because I've slightly spoiled RDR2's storyline for myself; yet, I'm glad that I didn't go overboard. I kept my curious mind on a leash for almost half a decade.

When it comes to story mode - single player games these days, many of us rely on a certain meta or playstyle. Whether it be a money hack/glitch, a legendary weapon or equipment, maybe even a companion. YouTube has made a bit too easy for us, and nowadays anyone can "crack the code" from just a simple Google or YouTube search.

Even about a decade ago things were way more natural. Back then in order to find the answers you'd have to invest a lot of time, and in return you'd get your very personal and curious questions answered. Our choices back then would mostly rely on our gut feeling and intuition, sometimes even our own, very real moral and ethics would have to step in as well.

Spoilers weren't as common either, and the games did not treat us like donkeys helping with farm tasks. Nor did we have to pay $60/70 for a game that's only a measly 20 hours long or so.

THE END IS NEAR.png

When it comes to such story driven games, I still rely on my own personal choices, my gut feeling, instead of doing what the game thinks is right or wrong. Yes, if I don't abide by the rules of the game then it will try its best to penalize me, but I have my ways around it.

It's a game after all, a bit of madness and hysteria can sometimes enhance the whole experience, making it a lot more memorable. Yet, at the end of day, no matter how much trouble I cause, I'd like to believe that I'm the good guy. At least that's what the game is indicating.

Fortunately, the world of RDR2 has more good than bad. That is why I really didn't have to get my hands dirty. The only times I decided to go on a rampage was when I got attacked, or have mistakenly stepped into enemy territory.

When I am face to face with the enemies, most of the time I show absolutely no mercy.

I'm no saint either, but hey, as Arthur Morgan said...

"We're bad men, but we ain't them"

And when I'm not running and gunning, trying to hunt all the bad folk down, then I'll just take my horse for a ride and explore the unknown parts of the game.

I've stalled a lot in this game, just trying to avoid Arthur's ending and the main storyline.

Yet, I don't think I can stall anymore. Now it has just become repetitive. I've explored a ton, hunted down legendary animals, cleared out notorious local gangs, customized my weaponry, took care of the camp, met and helped a lot of strangers too. I believe I've done all I could, while also keeping the game fun and entertaining for myself.

But now, it's time to focus and advance on with the main storyline.

As the camp gets emptied one by one, as important characters keep leaving or dying, I realized that it's time to put an end to this.

I'm no completionist, so I've had my experiences of joy, shenanigans, loss and depression. I'll take whatever trophies I've gained so far, it's not like they matter much. It's now time I try and finish Arthur's storyline and start with the Epilogue, where John's story begins and leads towards RDR 1.

I've had my fair share of "howdys, yee-haws and yippie ki-yayysss" in RDR2 and I don't think I'll be posting any more updates about my RDR2 journey. I'll simply zoom through the main storyline and epilogue from here on.

After RDR2 is done and dusted fully, I'll focus a bit more on Cyberpunk 2077's gameplay.

But hey, maybe us cowboys and girls will meet again in RDR 1's remastered version?

Till then, take care, partner. 🤠🍻

Actually these games are fairly easy to understand, but you do have to make the right choices to get the best experience and outcome.

The game looks very good and I even love the graphics

In terms of graphics this game is definitely one of the best, a top 3 in my books for sure. The overall experience is nothing less than reading a good book or watching one of your favorite movies. It's just an immersive story-telling experience.

If you play it just right, then the overall experience will be way more memorable compared to a movie, TV show, or a book.
