Oxenfree is a simple game, which is basically about talking and exploring the environment with our radio. Alex, our character, is a teenage girl who lives with her friends and her stepbrother, Jonas. This peculiar group decides to celebrate a party on the beach of Edwards Island, full of memories of the past, and a paranormal event will take place, as it is to witness a rupture of space-time, through which we will be able to contact strange beings.

The mechanics of the game is simple: we will be able to see the conversations between the other characters and, sometimes, we will be able to intervene. In each dialogue, we will be presented with three options for answers and one option for silence. We will have little time to respond, so quickly understanding the situation is important to choose the right answer.

An interesting fact about Oxenfree is that it has several endings, as our decisions will affect the progress and outcome of the story. Therefore, an important aspect of the game is to explore and understand what happens on the island.

Oxenfree focuses on the relationships between the characters. The group is formed by, besides our dear Alex, Jonas (his stepbrother), Clarissa (Jonas' ex-girlfriend), Ren (Alex's best friend) and Nona (Ren's girlfriend). Just as in real life, some interactions between certain characters are better than others and, depending on our responses, we may improve or worsen those relationships.

The radio we carry around is the means by which we can listen to conversations in other places. It will broadcast everything from songs from years gone by to secret messages in Morse code. It will be useful to us on several occasions when we encounter puzzles.

Oxenfree has a retro 80's aesthetic that makes it attractive. The military island, the center of Oxenfree's history, is easy to explore and impossible to get lost in. Its settings have depth and its style has many beautiful details.

The soundtrack is wonderful and there is no moment in the whole game when we don't hear the different voices of each character.

Oxenfree is a game that can be played through multiple endings, where we will see the limits of Alex's companions and the change in his relationships with others.

Oxenfree es un juego simple, que se trata básicamente de hablar y explorar el ambiente con nuestra radio. Alex, nuestro personaje, es una adolescente que vive junto a sus amigos y su hermanastro, Jonas. Este peculiar grupo decide celebrar una fiesta en la playa de la isla Edwards, repleta de recuerdos del pasado, y se producirá un evento paranormal, como lo es presenciar una ruptura del espacio-tiempo, a través de la cual seremos capaces de contactar con seres extraños.

La mecánica del juego es simple: podremos ver las conversaciones entre los otros personajes y, en algunas ocasiones, seremos capaces de intervenir. En cada diálogo, se nos presentarán tres opciones de respuestas y una de guardar silencio. Tendremos poco tiempo para responder, por lo que entender rápidamente la situación es importante para elegir la respuesta que creemos correcta.

Un dato interesante de Oxenfree es que cuenta con diversos finales, pues nuestras decisiones afectarán el progreso y desenlace de la historia. Por ello, un aspecto importante del juego es explorar y comprender lo que pasa en la isla.

Oxenfree le enfoca especial atención a las relaciones entre los personajes. El grupo está conformado por, además de nuestra querida Alex, Jonas (su hermanastro), Clarissa (ex novia de Jonas), Ren (mejor amigo de Alex) y Nona (novia de Ren). Así como en la vida real, algunas interacciones entre ciertos personajes son mejores que otras y, según nuestras respuestas, podremos mejorar o empeorar dichas relaciones.

La radio que cargamos encima es el medio por el cual podremos escuchar las conversaciones de otros lugares. Nos transmitirá desde canciones de los años pasados hasta mensajes secretos en código Morse. Nos será de utilidad en varias ocasiones cuando nos encontremos con los puzles.

Oxenfree tiene un estética retro de los años 80 que lo vuelve atractivo. La isla militar, el centro de la historia de Oxenfree, es fácil de explorar y es imposible perderse en ella. Sus escenarios tienen profundidad y su estilo posee bastantes detalles hermosos.

La banda sonora es maravillosa y no hay momento en todo el juego en el que no escuchemos las distintas voces de cada personaje.

Oxenfree es un juego rejugable por los múltiples finales, donde veremos los límites de los compañeros de Alex y el cambio en sus relaciones con los demás.
