Octharg The Destroyer Part #1 - Setting off to strengthen his magic
Growth in magic is growth in madness
Fresh to the eyes among the inhabitants of Enderal is the once secluded Half-Aeterna named Octharg The Destroyer.
He was a menace before being reduced in his magical abilities and cast out to Enderal's wild to fend for himself. But this wasn't enough to stop the fire inside from raging and giving the ambition of seeking the once glorious power, needed to unleash vengeance and death on those in the way.
Wasting little time, Octharg proceeded to find somewhere nearby and loot what he could find including a bow and arrows and a robe, something to go with the lightning he was still able to cast in a weakened state. It is all back up from here on out for him.
As he traveled further into this area to see what else of value could potentially have been left here, or the corpses of fallen adventurers held, Octharg noticed something in the distance, something strange... An arrow was shot before another two were launched from his bow, damaging what turned out to be a mud elemental. He wouldn't be able to damage quick enough while moving backward so he busted out the magic to do more damage and quicker, ensuring he was going to live.
"Well how does that lightning taste because I cannot feed you anything else, I am yet to find new magic to train in once more. You shall not stop me, mud elemental, now be destroyed!" Octharg shouted as he was unleashing the lightning.
Not too much was left to explore after defeating the mud elemental. After looting a few more bits and pieces lying about the place, he headed outside to bathe in the glorious sun shining on him and the land. Just a short stop before the next nearby location to see what could be found, magic and gold is some of the key things to look for right now.
Inside the next location were corpses of the undead with loot inside, coffins had loot and there were chests, some having some good loot including a staff of flames and the magic spell life absorption which is always fun when you get to drain the health of your enemies and get free healing for yourself.
"Rest well undead, this will save me having to kill you all again if you are not bothering me. Tank you for the loot though and it is going to a greater cause you would enjoy, the cause of death and destruction to the pitiful inhabitants of Enderal" he said with before letting out an evil laugh.
It was a calm and low risk run through that mini dungeon but well worth it for the staff and spell and the following view upon exiting. Now to head to Jesper not far from here, only problem is the wolves started to appear, prompting use of the staff of flames plus life absorption to bring the hurt and a swift death to each of them.
"Jesper knew of some people that would be able to help me control my magic as I grew my power again, it was a matter of deceiving everyone to show myself as one of the good people, as a mage and not the tyrannical warlock and necromancer I once was." he thought to himself while approaching Jespar.
The conversation was very insightful and helpful. Now Octharg knew where to go once he had checked out some other dungeons and locations of interest, maybe he would have to talk to a few people to get a good idea on any special locations.
For now though, it was rest time in the nearby village for a nice meal and sleep to prepare for the next adventure as there is a long way to go and much training and killing to carry out yet!
