Octharg The Destroyer Part #10 - Keldron Family Crypt & Frostcliff dangers

In the crypt for the Keldron family lies the infamous Lost Mage, a once living and proud wizard of the higher arts but now a dead body of the former person, one that aimlessly will shoot magic and attack any entering this crypt.
But its magic has dwindled after so long without victims to slay due to many scared travelers, ones that know not of this off-the-trail crypt but only the famous ones said to bring riches.
"This place will be all for me, Jespar told me of the loot you can find including lots of money and magical items, so once there are no enemies I can have a proper look" Octharg said to himself before fighting the Lost Mage.
The dangers of Frostcliff
The looting had been completed and a trek back to the Myrad Tower was made. With a full moon out to enjoy, a trip was made from the tower to Frostcliff which is a dangerous place, being out to the north and where those that train hard or are deadly in general tend to hang out. It was going to be a test of Octharg's ever growing power and his sanity to be out in this cold, out of the way location never before visited.
Frostcliff sure lives up to its reputation. Just after leaving the small village was our villain attacked by some tough wild mages that wanted to slay him for fun.
Even with the ghost black bear summon out to help with damage and absorbing some of the hits, Octharg had found this to be a difficult fight in which multiple potions and moving about to avoid some hits was necessary in order to stay alive.
This fight had been going back and forth with both sides healing and blasting the other with magic. At one point it was almost a death for Octharg due to not paying proper attention, yet he had managed to prevail once healed up and getting out bigger damage while the bear did the same.
With this successful fight came leveling up to level 11, a much needed and earned boost and the strength continued to grow through each level!
"Hell of a fight but damn I needed that level after it was slow to reach it at times. Now I can keep seeing what this part of the land has in store for me."
Wild mages were just the beginning of what enemies out in Frostcliff were dangerous. Next up was a Wood Elemental that was draining and slashing the life quickly from Octharg, prompting a response with swift attacks and life absorption to ensure it could be killed just in time or it would be another death.
What was next would be a fatal blow, for the Mighty Wisps were upon him and while it seemed like the fight was going well and life was gained quickly, the Wisps would just as quickly take that life away from him and much faster than he could gain. They packed a strong attack that was hard to recover from and ultimately, this would lead to the next death Octharg had to experience.
"How could I let myself fall again... I shall come back to kill these pesky Wisps as show them the mistake they made!" Octharg muttered upon his dying breath.
One nearby area was searched after those Wisps had been dealt with and almost killing Octharg again, this area was filled with Lost Ones and Mountain Deerstalker Cougars.
Firstly the Lost Ones were occupied with our cautious villain but as he had moved to cover, they found the cougar and started to deal damage to it. It became a perfect time to retaliate and try take some out while they were not attacking him, making it easier to win this fight as it was a tough set of enemies that had more damage and health than the normal ones elsewhere.
"So much for tough enemies. Them having their back turned to me allowed some easy and constant damage to be applied."
After dealing with the Lost Ones and checking out any loot they had, to his surprise, there was a summon Mud Elemental spell book found. It was a quick read and then summon of this glorious creature and it was super strong too, as a Mountain Deerstalker found out while trying to attack Octharg, but being pummeled by the Mud Elemental.
"My god you are strong friend and how I wish you could properly understand me. You are a well worthy summon that will get to experience a lot of this land when I summon you" Octharg said while putting a hand on the Mud Elemental.
Exhausted and ready for a sleep until morning, Octharg cleared the area of the remaining few enemies, looked around and found a suitable and safe location to lay down and sleep for the night, an abandoned camp which had an old but still usable sleeping bag. This was one of the toughest days experienced and no doubt needing some more leveling and growing his power to be able to cast stronger spells!
This was part 10 in a series accompanying Octharg The Destroyer on his journey to regain his lost power and become the destroyer he once was.
