Advent Drawing Challenge 2020: Minty Cane

It is snowing still and the raccoons could not go outside to get food. It had been a surprisingly long winter period and food supply is getting scarce. Woody woke up from his sleep and is hungry. There is nothing he can find except for the minty canes that he got from Mr. Blackwood.

Hello creative community,
Somehow I manage to squeeze in some time to draw so I can still participate in the Advent Drawing Challenge 2020. I really wanted to finish all given prompts so I can have a nice collection of raccoons after this. Now, let me show some progress photos of this drawing:

On my first draft of the character I made sure that he is holding the cane and is munching on it

I always forget about the tail. I had to add it on a separate layer. It makes me feel good when I see the details on the final line drawing.

Now let us check the base colors. Randomly picked colors except for the raccoon's color which should be accurate

Here is the background. Quite simple because I do not want it to compete with the raccoon.
