̶P̶o̶v̶'̶s̶ 🧘♀️ Justin's Culture Corner 🕌 Lapu-Lapu Churches, Cebu Art Fairs, Beachlife In Vietnam, Wat Nakaram, And More!! 🛕
Greetings ASEAN Hivers 🙏🏻, @sreypov is deep in the countryside of Cambodia now, and without reliable internet, so this week I (@justinparke) am highlighting Southeast Asian travel and culture content from within the ASEAN Hive Community.
🧧🛕 Pov's Culture Corner 🕌🙇♀️
Hopefully @sreypov and the @kidsisters will be back online soon, but Pursat, Cambodia, has terrible internet, so for now I'll be taking over their curation posts until a more stable living space is arranged. Usually my wife includes some delicious eats in this curation, so I apologize for nothing edible in this curation, I only realized it after I was finished. However, I selected 4 posts that I'd love to share with you all, so let's get into it.
Visiting Virgen Dela Regla Church Of Lapu-Lapu City
by:@jayparagatIf you know just a little about the Philippines, you probably know that Catholicism is a pretty big deal there. There are lots of beautiful churches, both old and new, and this post features a church in Lapu-Lapu city that is quite beautiful. This couple attended a festival there to celebrate the local Patron Saint, the Virgen Dela Regla, and partook in a candle lighting.
TAKING YOU FOR A STROLL AT VISAYAS ART FAIR | CEBU PH
by:@chillwithshannaThis post/video is full of color, energy, and creativity. I have some terribly slow internet at the moment, but I made sure to wait and let this load. This art fair is full of interesting pieces, artists working on canvases in real-time, and lots of visitors in awe of the amazing creations. I didn't realize there was such a thriving young art community in Cebu, and it made me realize it would be nice to see something like this take off in Cambodia.
Early morning photos from the Beach
by:@jacuzziWe still don't have a lot of content from Vietnam in the ASEAN Hive Community, and it's safe to say this an underserved Hive market, along with Cambodian and Laos. Well, luckily we have @jacuzzi, who not only happens to live in Vietnam, but is also a photographer. We have opposite problems, this guy struggles to write the post but takes incredible photos, and I love writing but can never take a photo like I imagine it in my mind. Well, this is one of the big reasons I love this guy's content, his photos tell a story in a sense, something really challenging for me. Take a look at this post to understand what I'm talking about.
Wat Nakaram, Phuket Town
by:@baibuazaLast but not least is a place I've heard about but never seen (maybe, I read way too many posts). I have a friend living in Phuket that is an avid cyclist, and he's told me about this wat more than once, and this post contains lots of images and information about this very ornate pagoda. After reading this post and viewing the images, you'll feel as if you've taken a tour with a professional guide.

There are so many different cultures and all of it are beautiful and fascinating. Congratulations to all selected posts.👏👏
They were all very good reads/watches.
We can see the beautiful views, cultures and people of ASEAN from daily stories. That is what this platform interesting.
Interesting choice, Justin.
I live in the Ph but don't practice catholicism. Im glad we are free to choose what to believe and to be devoted about.
Dang, Could'nt play 3speak videos on office PC.
I had fun reading about jacuzzi's post especially when the bride and groom ran from the water
and the scenes form Buddhist temples are so amazing
Thanks for stopping by, I really like the mix this week. I imagine you are a rarity as a non-Catholic Filipina. I love how diverse ASEAN Hive is, and it's nice seeing new folks join us and share different kinds of content.
Congratulations to @jayparagat @chillwithshanna @jacuzzi @baibuaza for being featured in this post. It's nice to see different corners of Asia, especially in my city, Cebu!
Woot!! Let's show them more of our beautiful country!! :)
Yeeeess! hehehehe. We have so much to offer to the world!
So many new members lately, definitely a good thing. I love the new faces and content, but it does usually come with the muting of several people. These growing pains have kept me really busy lately, little time to post anything from my own profile.
Oh no. Please save some time to build your own profile. It would be understandable not to accommodate everyone. You are just one person after all
Things tend to come in waves, we've had a large amount new folks enter ASEAN Hive lately, and it takes time to sort through them and weed out plagiarists, post dumpers, etc. I think things will calm down soon.
It seems like a lot of work but yeah, hoping it'll ease soon. Thank you for doing such a great job for the community.
Thank you so much for the feature and recognition! Def going to share more of our culture and activities you can do in the Philippines particularly in Cebu where I live. I hope to meet Hivers as well! Would be glad to show you guys around! :)
What at awesome post, I am looking forward to more content from you.
beautiful places.. congrats to the cebuanos who were picked!
I know so much about Cebu because of Hive 😁. It would almost be a waste not to go there in possession of so much information.
you should go and visit cebu and while you're at it, you might want to check bohol too (neighboring island where I am based) to meet the tarsiers...
I have learned a bit about Bohol too through Hive, didn't realize it was so close to Cebu.
Thank you for the information, it is very valuable, you respect all posts and share beautiful moments. Hopefully the signal in Cambodia will improve quickly and your wife can share good food again. greetings from me.
Yes, she will be in the big city of Siem Reap soon and have good wifi. I like seeing her content from Cambodia, it makes me feel as though I am there with my family.
because our posts have a good imagination, if the post is positive then we will attract positive energy too. Hope you get together with your big family soon
Thank you my friend 🙏.
your are welcome😊😊
