Discover Phuket Old Town through a walk

What do you think of Phuket? Beautiful sea, white sandy beaches, foreigners sunbathing, bikini-clad girls, luxury accommodation on the beach, nightlife (Bangla Road), or the very expensive cost of living for Thai people?

These are just some of the things most tourists imagine about Phuket. But here there are still many interesting things to find 🙂 Today I'm going to take you all for a walk and shopping in the old town, also known as "Phuket Town".

Phuket is a city with a long history and prosperity, one of the traces of Phuket's glorious past is Phuket Old Town. Filled with buildings in the Sino-Portuguese style along both sides of the street make it a unique place on the island. These old buildings are scattered throughout Phuket Town, you have to walk a little to admire their beauty.

It is most convenient to see Old Phuket Town on foot as there is not much parking and most of the old buildings are located along the road. Each road is connected to the others, Thalang Road, Yaowarat, Dibuk, Phang Nga, Thep Krasattri, so you can organize your walk to make a loop that will bring you back to your starting point.

The best time to walk around and take nice pictures of the buildings with the best light is in the morning at the golden hour. But if you want to take a walk, stop by a restaurant or coffee shop, come in the afternoon around 3 p.m. In the evening or at night time, the old Phuket town is quite bustling and on Sunday evenings there is also a lively night market.

This area, known as the Clock Tower Roundabout, is decorated with colorful balls, both small and large, and the traffic island is decorated with colorful flowers.

สวัสดีคร้าาาาาา..... เมื่อพูดถึงภูเก็ตเพื่อนๆ คิดถึงอะไร? ทะเลสวย หาดทรายขาว ชาวต่างชาตินอนอาบแดดชิลล์ สาวๆ ในชุดบิกินี่เซ็กซี่ ที่พักสุดหรูริมชายหาด สถานบันเทิงยามค่ำคืน (ถนนบางลา) หรือค่าครองชีพที่แพงมากสำหรับคนไทย นี่เป็นเพียงบางส่วนที่นักท่องเที่ยวส่วนใหญ่วาดภาพเมื่อนึกถึงภูเก็ต แต่ว่าที่นี่ยังมีสิ่งที่น่าสนใจมากมายให้เพื่อนๆ มาค้นหา วันเน้.... บัวก็จะพาเพื่อนๆ ไปเดินเที่ยว ไปช้อปปิ้งละลายทรัพย์กันดีกว่า ที่ย่านเมืองเก่า หรือที่เรียกกันว่า "ภูเก็ตทาวน์" ซึ่งภูเก็ตเป็นเมืองที่มีประวัติศาสตร์มายาวนานม๊วกกกกก.... โดยเฉพาะย่านภูเก็ตทาวน์ จะมีร่องรอยของสถาปัตยกรรมที่เคยรุ่งเรืองในยุคก่อน ส่งผ่านทางอาคารบ้านเรือน ในสไตล์ชิโนโปรตุกีสทั้งสองฝั่งถนน ถนนแต่ละเส้นเชื่อมต่อกันหมดค่ะ สามารถเดินเป็นวงกลมได้เลย ถ้ามาเที่ยวย่านเมืองเก่าอยากจะเซลฟี่แสงสวย แนะนำตอนเช้าค่ะ เซลฟี่ไป แวะร้านโน้นออกร้านนี้ ฟินม๊วกกกก.... แต่ถ้าอยากจะมาถ่ายรูปเมืองเก่าและเดินตลาดด้วย แนะนำเย็นๆ เพราะที่นี่เขามีตลาดคนเดินเย็นวันอาทิตย์ เมื่อพร้อมแล้วก็เตรียมหมวก และกล้อง แล้วไปกันเล้ยยยยย....

ช่วงเน้.... ยังอยู่ในช่วงเทศกาลคิดมาก เอ้ย!!!....คริสต์มาส และเทศกาลปีใหม่ (เทศกาลที่เงินไหลออกราวกับก๊อกน้ำ 555) ช่วงของการเฉลิมฉลอง ทางเทศบาลเมืองภูเก็ตก็ตกแต่งประดับประดา ตามจุดต่างๆ ที่สำคัญๆ ของย่านเมืองเก่า ภาพนี้อยู่ที่วงเวียนหอนาฬิกา ตกแต่งด้วยบอลลูนน้อยใหญ่สีสันสดใสม๊วกกกก....

This yellow clock tower building is one of the most popular spots for tourists to take pictures.

The yellow building opposite the clock tower is the Chartered Bank. In the past, the clock tower was white, now renovated and painted yellow like the Chartered Bank. Because both buildings have been used as the Phuket Baba Museum.

ตึงสีเหลืองอร่ามตรงหน้าเน้...... ซึ่งอยู่ตรงข้ามหอนาฬิกา ก็คือธนาคารชาร์เตอร์ บอกเลยว่าจุดนี้มีนักท่องเที่ยวจำนวนมากมายมาถ่ายรูปกับเจ้าตึกสีเหลืองนี้ ใครมาภูเก็ตแล้วไม่มาถ่ายรูปคู่กับหอนาฬิกาสีเหลือง ถือว่ามาไม่ถึงภูเก็ต (เอาจริงบัวก็ยังไม่เคยเอาตัวไปถ่ายรูปคู่กับตึกพวกนี้เลย เพราะสาถ่ายรูปคนออกมาไม่ได้เรื่องเลย คือถ่ายแล้วไม่ถูกใจบัวว่างั้น ก็เลยถ่ายแต่ตัวตึกมา แบบนี้เรามาถึงภูเก็ตยังแว้....5555) เมื่อก่อนหอนาฬิกาเป็นสีขาว ตอนนี้ทำการปรับปรุงและทาสีเหลือง ให้เหมือนธนาคารชาร์เตอร์ อยู่ใกล้กันก็ให้มันกลมกลืนกันหน่อย ตึกทั้งสองนี้ถูกใช้เป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์บาบ๋าภูเก็ตด้วย

At the corner of the street opposite the yellow Clock Tower, there is a large girl doll. Dressed in a colorful floral dress. It is popular with many tourists every day especially in the evening, tourists come to take pictures with the big girl doll to post on social media.

I think a lot of women probably have the same problem as me, that is to let the husband take the picture of you and get a really bad or far of your wish result. When taking pictures, I want to be slimmer and not fatter than I am. My husband took a picture of me becoming obese, I don't care if the real person is fat or short, but the photos posted on social media must look good. 🤣🤣🤣

Thalang Road and Soi Romanee
