👯♀️ The @KidSisters Hive Journey Is Coming To An End 🏁 Stay Tuned For @Sakana & @Srey-Yuu 👩💻
The @kidsisters are finally ready to go on separate Hive journeys, so stay tuned for blog posts from @sakana and @srey-yuu.
🚫 Too Old To Share 👯♀️
Now that Srey-Yuu is a teenager and manages the @kidsisters mostly on her own, I think it's time to give her a blog to run more independently and also let Monkey-B start her solo Hive journey. The two sisters are now ages 9 and 13, and their personalities and work ethics are much more different now than they were when I created the @kidsisters profile for them.
I was surprised to find the username @sakada already taken, but @sakana was available. Our daughters' real longform legal names are Chan-Sakana and Chan-Sakada, but Sakada has gone by the name Srey-Yuu since she was very young, so long that it's not really a nickname. Luckily that name was available, so I secured @sakana and @srey-yuu and punched in some basic info to get them started.
I'm going to have the girls choose and upload their own profile pics as well as write their own info in the About section. Once the profiles are ready they will start with fresh introductions, outlining their ideas for these new solo Hive journeys. I will focus more of my time with helping Monkey-B to learn Hive skills, and Srey-Yuu will be free to post as little or as much as she wants. She needs this freedom because she only posts when I pressure her into it, but she is also aware how much crypto savings could affect her future, especially because she'll be 18 years old in 5 years.
I'm not sure that Hive will give her the economic freedom I had hoped for because there have been many periods of inactivity on her Hive journey. Only because I know she is aware of how Hive can change her life am I willing to step away and let her choose what to do with this life tool. Monkey-B is still too young to fully grasp the impact of what Hive can do for her future, so I will encourage her to post and teach her until she's a teenager.
🤒 Monkey-B Is Sick Today 🍵
This young Hiver is excited about her new blog, but today she's got a headache and asked me to make some hot lime tea for her. After a half glass she passed out on the bed, so I'll spend the rest of today updating her iPad and setting up her Ecency and Hive Keychain apps. I've begun a powerdown on their @kidsisters account, and will be pumping up their new accounts with the HIVE from this powerdown.
Sorry this post isn't my best work or full of pics, today has been hectic and I also missed a chance to post yesterday. Hopefully some hot and fresh content coming soon, so stay tuned for that.

Already 100% again 💪
apparently a new journey has started, this is really a great idea that you came up with,, it's very true because they are almost growing up, of course they must have their own accounts, moreover they can control whatever obstacles come in the #hive section
the account name with the owner's name in my opinion is very compatible,, why do I say that because it is a name that is difficult for us to find when we create an account,,
@sakada and @sakana those are very productive twin names,,,
why do I say the name is a twin name,,, because in the beginning there was an "S" from both names in the first letter ... the name is quite impressive,, usually if we or someone have the same name and the same twin, it is difficult to separate, even if one name is injured, the second name is also injured, and vice versa if one is happy, the other is also happy.
I can't wait for stories from them, I hope monkey-B gets well soon......
for you my friend @justinparke hope you are always healthy....
I was so surprised to see @sakada already taken, but it's okay because @srey-yuu is her everyday name. Because Sakana and Sakada sound so similar, a different name was needed for one of them since they were young, and that is how Sakada became Srey-Yuu 😁.
Monkey-B is feeling better now, so I am anxiously awaiting her #hive re-introduction.
Oh wow! Congratulations, @kidsisters! They have indeed come a long way. Looking forward to your individual journeys here on Hive, @srey-yuu and @sakana.
I think this will serve them better as they move forward. The @kidsisters was an experiment, and now that they are longterm Hivers and want to stick with it, separate profiles/blogs are a logical next step. I can't wait to see what Monkey-B decides to post about.
Get well soon
🙏👊 Already better

I am very happy to see that your young daughter already has a hive blog. I hope you will be more successful in the future and don't be satisfied because knowledge does willnot run out .keep fighting for your future because you are young and have many chances to be famous.
Haha, yes, very true. Many Hivers already know Monkey-B through her shared blog with big sister, but big sister did 95% of the work. With different profiles I think they'll be more competitive and therefore more prolific and productive with their posting.
Oh my! Can't wait for them to share something to everyone on Hive. So excited to see how they could make their blogs creative in their own unique ways.
Srey-Yuu will be simply happy to have her own blog even though it was basically the @kidsisters blog basically was hers. I think she's also happy to she the "kid" title from her username now that she's a teenager.
Monkey-B is a mystery, I really don't know what she'll blog about, but it will likely be a slow start. She's working on her intro this week.
That's good to know. Looking forward to that!
Many of my students are also sick these days. Get well soon. I can't wait to see their new posts.🌹
Thank you, I will let Monkey-B know, I am also excited for her solo blogging adventure.
Very cool that they're moving onto their own blogs. I've followed them for a while on KidSisters (one of my few auto votes that aren't manual), as I thought seeing some young people on the site hustling to better their future was worth the few cents I could send them each post. I've since moved away from auto-voting, so I'll make an effort to add them to my growing list of folks I try to support regularly.
Best of luck to them as they embark on this new Hive journey!
I am honored they were on your autovote. There may be another @kidsisters post left, likely a goodbye post with links to both of their intros. I regret they'll be starting with low rep scores, but they're kids and I honestly think they don't care about that at all, just me.
Stay tuned for @sakana and @srey-yuu intros, and big sister posting more often than little sister 😉.
I've already added them both to my Favorites!
👍👍
Rebranding is hard! I hope it works out great for them on this new chapter!
Very true, but I think Srey-Yuu feels she knows her brand now as an overly confident teenager 😉.
Very nice, I'll follow both of you! 🤗
Cheers, intro posts in the works as I type.......
Even before I saw this blog post, I noticed the account @sakana followed me. I recognized the name immediately and knew what was happening! 😁 Both of your daughters are now on my lists — my Following list (where I follow so many accounts that things easily get lost in my Feed), and a special list of female authors that I like and check daily (that's where I am more likely to see their posts). I do hope both girls will continue to blog, and that @srey-yuu will tell us more of her hopes and dreams as she progresses through her teenage years. 😊
Will you be setting up an account for Mey-Yii, too, perhaps? Does she have an iPad of her own?
I think it's a little overdue, their personalities are different, Srey-Yuu's a teenager, they have different work ethics, etc., so definitely time for individual Hive journeys. I wish Mey-Yii would learn Hive, but she doesn't speak any English, only the 10 or so words I've taught her. She also has zero computer experience, and I'd honestly love to help her with something like Hive, but there are so many bigger issues going on with that little girl.
She's a sweetheart, but she's never had a good rolemodel, and I think some behavioral issues will have to be sorted out eventually. We're currently having some difficulties with her Grandma at the moment, long story.....
Congratulations on this milestone! - First to you, the proud dad. Eventually I'll congratulate each of the girls too, whose new accounts I'm following, but I want to wait at least for their intro posts with that.
Nice title, by the way! You may call it clickbait, but this kind I don't mind. My first reaction was Oh no, what happened? but your first line already cleared that up: growing up, that's what. 😜
For now, my best wishes to Monkey-B to get better soon. And then I'm looking forward to her posts! (I remember having written this already, but then I must have missed the one she created on @kidsisters.)
I think Srey-Yuu's intro will be coming tonight, stay tuned. Glad it wasn't too click-baity, wanted to get folks' attention but not sound dramatic, haha. I know there will still be several Hivers that only check in periodically that will surely miss this development, but hopefully in time they'll regain most of their followers.
Monkey-B has only done a handful of her own posts on @kidsisters, some killer video content in Suriname when we had unmetered wi-fi. I hope she finds Hive to be therapeutic and fun, and I'll just focus on supporting her in the beginning instead of nagging her to post.
🙏🙏🙏
Great idea! They will have a new journey and reponsibility for each of their own.. adventures and the like. Wish them all the best.
I am looking forward to it, I think they know both understand the impact a Hive income can have on their futures. Starting at such a young age, they could really set themselves up to never need a job from an employer when they are adults.
Congratulations to your daughter @kidsisters,I can't wait for the next blog post, I hope you get well soon.
It is exciting to see them working on intro and re-intro posts, and of course little sister still needs a little help from big sister.
Hey, good for them! And good luck to them!
Hope the little one feels better soon.
All better now, a three day late reply is enough time to get well 😉. I can't wait for their re-intros, exciting times.....
You have taught how to use social media well so that by being involved in social media, especially like this hive, you can make money that can be used for daily needs, especially since your children are very independent and understand how to use blockchain hives like this so that with each account for your child they will be more independent and can earn their own income in this hive.
I am also very impressed with the cohesiveness of your family in the hive and work together in managing a large community like ASEAN HIVE. I have seen that your family is also very dedicated in our beloved community, including you and your wife and also your children. in difficult times but there and your family still managed to manage the ASEAN HIVE community and now it is getting bigger and also your children will be able to manage a community better.
Thank you my friend, we do our best even if the curation posts come a little late at times, but that is what a grassroots community has to do sometimes when life gets in the way. I am surprised to see my daughters still want to continue with Hive, and it brings me joy to know the financial freedom it may give them in the near future when they are young adults.
I dream even one day that my oldest daughter may start a Hive Community of her own, but that is a long way from now. They both have learned very much in a short time, and I am a proud Dad. Thanks for your kind words bro 👊🙏.
Hope Monkey-B will get well soon. The temperature in Asean is not good. Sometimes is hot and sometimes is raining. My boy has recovered from typhoid fever a week ago. My boy's temperature always increases in the afternoon and evening, he was very week so that a nurse ave him infused liquid and antibiotic for three days. You should get Monkey-B get checked at the closest doctors or clinics.
Typhoid is serious, I've had it before, absolutely took away my energy. Glad to see your boy is getting better, Monkey-B was only sick for a half-day, a night of rest and hydration fixed her up.
We don't have good medical care here, so I have to rely on my old Wilderness EMT training to deal with any issues we can manage from home. In Cambodia it's best to avoid a hospital if possible, you can often come out worse than you went in 😁.
Congratulations girls on another new phase in your lives!
You're going to have to change your footer now, Justin. 😉
If you don't mind me being nosy, what is the meaning or significance of "Srey" in mum and daughter's names? Is it family related? I always want to ask these things, as I love learning about other cultures, languages and traditions.
Good point, gonna have to get rid of all mentions of @kidsisters soon. Even though they are doing intros, I think it will still be good to do a final goodbye post from their old account and pin it to the blog so that old followers and folks that don't check in often will know where to find them.
Srey has a meaning, and even though I write my wife's name as Sreypov, it is actually two words, "srey" and "pov." Srey literally translates as "female" in Khmer. "Pov" means "youngest offspring," so my wife's name would translate to "Youngest Female Offspring" in English, sounds a lot better in Khmer, 😁.
"Yuu" means "a long time" in Khmer, so Srey-Yuu's name translates to "Female Long Time" in English, another name that doesn't work well in English. A lot of Khmer names don't translate beautifully to English, but there is crossover, I've never heard of a language that didn't have women named "Rose" in the local language 😉🤔.
Funny extra tidbit, my name pronounced in Khmer style sounds like "chah stiev," and this means "old pubescent," so basically I am old fart trying to act cool, hip, and trendy.
This kind of explains why we borrow words from other languages which sum up what it takes us a sentence to say. 😆 In some ways English is rather clunky compared to other languages.
Now I have to ask, what is Rose in Khmer?
We're getting the weeds now, but there are many versions of the Khmer language, all using different vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. There is a language and vocab for the king and royal family to use among themselves, and they've got their own words for things like "toilet" and "love," etc. I only know the word for "eat" in royal family Khmer.
There is the Khmer spoken between Buddhist monks, and I know very little of that, except for basic words like "eat," etc. There is the Khmer spoken in urban areas by educated and the middle class, urban working class Khmer, rural Khmer, rural informal Khmer, even poetic Khmer, it's out of control honestly 🤣.
I know hot to speak with working class people all over the country, the middle classes just about anywhere, but I feel out of place with upper-middle class and wealthy Khmers, they use pronouns to refer to me that I feel are offensive, but it's all remnants of the caste system.
I know a wee bit of the poetic Khmer, these words are intermingled with normal Khmer in things like music, poems, folk tales, etc., so I guess I can offer you the everyday word for rose and the poetic name for rose......
Women are commonly named both Kolap and Bopha here.
Oh wow, that's a lot of different variations! It kind of shine a bit more light on the evolution of English in a way. I recall reading somewhere that English at some point became more simplified, absorbing the different languages around the country into one language that could be used more broadly across the country, or something like that.
Makes sense, and easier faster travel means more people speaking with other people from far away, further diluting accents and dialects. I think because here in Cambodia few people travel far often like in modern countries, strange accents still exist. There are remote villages here that rarely see visitors, and the residents rarely travel, so you even get "village language."
Congratulations to both and wishing a long and fruitful blogging journey for them.
Srey-Yuu is off to a good start but Monkey-B is slow-going with her intro. Too much pressure and she won't enjoy it though, so I just try to be supportive and help her when she wants to work on her draft.
Ah! Same Sur name as Jacky Chan 🤘😁🎉
Interesting fact
http://www.ourbabynamer.com/meaning-of-Chan.html
The word for "moon" is "preah chan" in Cambodian. The "preah" just means "holy" or divine." I never knew it was a Khmer word because so many words like this come from Chinese, Malay, Indian, Thai, and Javanese loanwords.
Does "Chan" mean anything in Mandarin? Perhaps the same meaning 🤔....
It's a different Chan here. Traditional writing as below.
The "ear" on the left was supposed to be referring to multiple mountains, a region, a division.
The 東 on the right is as the picture, referring to sun rise. The standalone word for 東 is East.
When the multiple mountains and the sun from the east mixed together, it brings the meaning of "display" as the sun is "displayed" between the mountains 🤣
Not much history I know from this "name". It's the top 5 largest group of family name in mainland China. Due to different dialects so it's being translated into different pronounciation.
Chen - officially and commonly read this way due to mandarin being the universal dialect. Most of the northern 陳 are commonly read as Chen.
Chan - mostly Cantonese at the southern part of China pronounce the name this way. Moving slightly to the east, a small portion of a different sub division of canto province also read it as Chin.
Ding, Ting - continue moving towards the east, different variations of 陳 being transformed to Ding and Ting depending on which part of the map.
Tan - most commonly pronounced by the south east China. Especially at the Fujian province. And this also include the neighbor Taiwan, technically entire country refer to this name as Tan.
It is also surprisingly placed 2nd in Vietnam after the Nguyen's. Do you know which translation it came from? That's right, it's Tran 🤣
Here, enjoy the TRANsition
Oh he's not Vietnamese. I guess during that time they couldn't find a Japanese actor to drive the Honda the merican way, so they find any merican born Asian(Korean in this case) did the automatic transmission drag race 🤣 I also noticed the fast and furious movie either had unlimited gear change or sometimes they race with automatic.
An extra information I found online, Korea was NOT part of China despite it was heavily influenced by the official communication languages used to send letter to the ancient China. They LEARN Chinese doesn't mean they speak Chinese. Despite they have some of the similar Sur name such as Lee, Kim, Wu and many more, but 陳 is not available. There's only a handful of existing Korean name Jin, and some unofficial web referred to the name as "from the west". And when we look at the map, west to Korea is? 🤣
