The #Photo52 challenge theme of the last week of 2020 is "Goodbye Selfie". I have been searching for quite a while until I have found this photo in the folder named "private photos".

So, after quite some editing, this is my contribution to the Photo 52, 2020 Challenge, Week Number 52 of @photo52, hosted by Victor @wwwiebe, and because this photo is in black&white it is also my entry for the #monomad Challenge created by @brumest and hosted by @monochromes.

After I have finished the editing work this photo shows a lot of the feelings I have had during this year, which haven't been the happiest as you all might have experienced yourself, and better titles would be Sorry, Sorrow or Sadness, but since it's also the end of this year, I call it Good Bye.

Well, now I want to tell you, what the original image actually was about ...

It was a bright and sunny day when we drove some miles with my daughter in order to get her drivers license. Because of the nice weather we decided to drive on the beautiful curvy "Nockalm Mountain Road".
At a lodge aside the road we took a break and while we were waiting for a little lunch, my daughter played with my camera. I said "nono, please no photo of me" ... in the same moment when she smiled and pressed the shutter button, I had to close my eyes, because the sun was shining directly into my face, and the empty bottle in front of me was a Coke bottle.
That's it, just a snapshot portrait taken on a sunny and happy day turned in Photoshop to a 2020 face.

By the way, as mentioned above I haven't taken the photo myself, but my daughter did, and I hope that's no problem, @photo52 / @wwwiebe and @monochromes.

These were quite a lot words for one photo in my eyes. So I think I'll add a quick Black&White edit of my walk in the snow 2 days ago :)

So, that was it for today ... and for this year. I wish you all a Happy and Healthy New Year. May it be better than the sh*t year we have just had and which we all should leave behind us, but not forget, and may my 2021 selfie look better too 😂

The photo was taken with my Canon EOS R and the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM lens.

That's a great pic! It's amazing how some of the best photos we take are sometimes quite by accident. I'd never know that the picture was taken in bright sunlight!

I had no idea what that was in your cover photo until I saw your beard. :)

What a lovely photo your daughter took. She captured a ‘I can’t take this anymore’ emotion,’ even if it was just because the sun was in your eyes.

The walk in the snow photo turned out nicely in the B&W. Definitely would make a splendid Christmas card.

haha, when my daughter saw the edited photo she said I look like an old grumpy soak, because the bottle looks like a beer bottle 🤣

Excellent capture you daughter managed here Johann very much sums up the end of 2020, hope she got the drivers license as well.

Snow path along the waters edge is stunning in black and white, I can well imagine how difficult lighting is, when mostly is glaring white.

Well we made it and although I am once again on African Time, we have had cooler weather so feel a bit more cheerful.

When it is a Coke and not a !BEER ?? Perhaps a Sherry instead of !WINE 🤣

Yes she has got the drivers license a few weeks later.

That's my favourite walking path where I usually don't meet anybody, but since people have to stay at home I meet some even here 😂
Photographing snow isn't always easy, that's right, but therefore I have Lightroom to compensate my errors 😉

Congratulate your daughter getting her drivers license, freedom is knowing how to drive. Working night-shift does tend to make one feel tired, last year drained us in more ways than one.

It's a pity people are finding your quiet path, you may need snow cleat boots if that becomes slippery...

Yeah, thank you, we are so glad that she and her twin brother have got the license on the first try. It's not that easy to get the drivers license here and it's not cheap either.

The older I get the more tired I get, although I even can sleep at night 😉

Well, as soon as they open the borders again all my favourite places will be quiet again 😁

I put my two through together at the same time from learners to drivers license since it does cost quite a bit, lots of problems at our testings sites for years as well.

A driving school instructor was used, my patience and nerves most definitely would never have stood that round of teaching them both.

Makes you feel a lot easier when everyone has a license in case of emergency you rely on each other. The older one gets the more you are able to give them the keys to drive 😄

Good to know your quiet paths will not be so busy hopefully soon.

It's different here: first they learn how to drive at driving school and then we had to drive 3000 km with each. Sometimes it was a bit scary, but all in all it was fun 😁
Learning was done at the driving school and at the computer.

Their driving skills have been tested in between and after passing the computer test they had to make a final quite hard driving test.

Yes, it's good that they have their licences, also for another reason - I don't have to play taxi driver anymore 🤣

I'm glad your daughter decided to take that photo @johannpiber! It came out nicely and works very well for your post! Let us hope that 2021 will be a better year for all! I have experienced this in the past too - the images show up fine in Ecency, but some don't load when you open the post in PeakD or hive.blog. Seems to be a bug in Ecency, but I am not sure.

You're very welcome! I do a lot on ecency but I don't post on there anymore because I've had that problem quite a bit. I love it otherwise. Glad the enlarge link worked though. I am hopeful for 2021 but time will tell! Take care and hope you had a wonderful weekend! 💕

I have also had problems with Ecency, but I still use it because it's easy to use on the phone and I can boost my posts with the points 😉

Yes, time will tell, we can't do much more than taking care for ourselves and for our families and hope.

What a splendid photo your daughter took she's quite a photographer taking after her Dad although it was a nice sunny day the photo really shows like a sign of relief seeing the tail end of 2020 and yep better year to look forward to hopefully and that snow photo is just awesome 👍

Snow, I love snow and it's snowing again - if nothing comes in between I will try to get some more snow shots tomorrow morning 😃
