Black and White: Hunting for sparrows by village children

IMG_1850+.jpg

Hi all my friends, everyone must have their own story to fill their vacation, this time I tried to tell a little about the children playing while catching sparrows in the farmers' rice fields in my hometown.

Sparrows are a pest to farmers, they often destroy rice plants in groups when the rice fruit starts to yellow. As a result, farmers are forced to put up nets so that the birds do not easily eat the rice seeds, said the farmer, this method is not an intention to kill them but so that the sparrows leave their plants, because following is not only eating rice seeds but also rice stalks are also damaged. .

Even though the nets have been installed all over the rice fields, these birds can still get inside, well, when the farmers drive them out, some of them get caught in the net so they die by themselves. However, there are some living sparrows that are taken by the children of the local village to be used as pet birds, they deliberately come every day to the fields specifically to look for birds caught in nets.

They look very good at releasing birds from the nets, even they are willing to go to the middle of the rice fields to catch birds, on that day I saw them bring some living sparrows home to their house, they looked dirty because they fell into the mud in the fields . They say we are very happy to hunt sparrows when the harvest season has arrived, this is also one of our vacation spots as village children.

Oh my.. I love those photos and the story, though I do feel a bit sad about the sparrows that died.
