Rohingya Refugee Landing stranded in the waters of Aceh, Indonesia
On Thursday, June 25, 2020, I had the opportunity to witness a number of Rohingya refugees in the high seas in the waters of the Malacca Strait.
Pada kamis, 25 Juni 2020, saya berkesempatan menyaksikan sejumlah pengungsi Rohingnya berada di lautan lepas di perairan Selat Malaka.
Initially, their presence was rejected by the local government, but due to humanitarian reasons and the insistence of the Acehnese people in the village of Lancok, Syamtalira Bayu sub-district, North Aceh.
Awalnya, kehadiran mereka sempat ditolak oleh Pemerintah Daerah setempat, namun dengan alasan rasa kemanusiaan serta desakan masyarakat Aceh di desa Lancok, kecamatan Syamtalira Bayu, Aceh Utara.
