Excursion to Vedana Lake in the Province of Belluno - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Hello everyone! Today I take you through my photos, in the province of Belluno, precisely at Lago Vedana.

Ciao a tutti! Oggi vi porto tramite le mie foto, nella provincia di Belluno, precisamente al Lago Vedana.

This lake is mainly important for its naturalistic value, it is not a tourist lake so to speak.

Questo lago è importante principalmente per il valore naturalistico, non è un lago turistico per intenderci.

There are two main routes, I have decided to choose one that goes around the lake.

Ci sono due percorsi principali, io ho deciso di sceglierne uno che gira attorno al lago.

The lake is of glacial origin and is located near the Belluno Dolomites National Park.

Il lago è di origine glaciale e si trova vicino al Parco Nazionale delle Dolomiti Bellunesi.

The outlying areas are a bit swampy and nearby there are peaty meadows that are very populated to hear the sounds of animals and insects.

Le zone periferiche sono un po' paludose e vicino ci sono prati torbosi che a sentire i versi degli animali e insetti sono molto popolati.

I also saw some nice ducks that I got to photograph on a couple of occasions.

Ho visto anche delle simpatiche anatre che avuto modo di fotografare in un paio di occasioni.

To make everything even more impressive is a mountain in the background made in a pointed, almost to look like a pyramid.

I've seen something similar in some fantasy movie...

A rendere tutto ancora più suggestivo è un monte sulo sfondo fatto a punta, quasi a sembrare una piramide.

Ho visto qualcosa di simile in qualche film fantasy...

The path is clearly visible and where necessary there are wooden walkways that allow you to cross the muddy areas.

Il sentiero è ben visibile e ove necessario ci sono delle passerelle di legno che permettono di attraversare le aree fangose.

The fish species present in the lake are rainbow trout, carp, tench, perch, rudd, pike and chub.
However, fishing is prohibited.

Le specie di pesci presenti nel lago sono la trota iridea, la carpa, la tinca, il pesce persico, la scardola, il luccio e il cavedano.
Tuttavia è vietata la pesca.

About halfway through the itinerary, the path enters the thickest vegetation and the view of the lake is gone.

Circa a metà itinerario il sentiero si inserisce nella vegetazione più fitta e la vista del lago non c'è più.

After about ten minutes you return a few meters from the water and see a freer background without the presence of mountains.

Dopo una decina di minuti si ritorna a qualche metro dall'acqua e si vede uno sfondo più libero senza la presenza di montagne.

The color of the water tends to yellow but using the polarizing filter I was able to obtain a reflection of the sky in a beautiful blue.

Il colore dell'acqua tende al giallo ma utilizzando il filtro polarizzatore sono riuscito ad ottenere un riflesso del cielo di un bel blu.

This is certainly a nice small lake but I don't recommend visiting it as the only stop of the day.

Questo è sicuramente un bel lago di piccole dimensioni però non consiglio di visitarlo come unica tappa della giornata.

About 15 minutes by car is the beautiful Mis lake which I visited on the same day.

I can't wait to show you the scenic beauties I photographed!
