Oggi vi parlo di una nuova avventura che io e il mio cucciolo Jungle insieme a Sara con la sua Olivia abbiamo deciso di intraprendere.
Le Grandi Panchine! Più che un’avventura direi una missione. Prima di iniziare a parlarvi del giro che abbiamo fatto, vorrei spiegarvi questo progetto realizzato da Chris Bangle.
Per chi ancora non lo conoscesse, il progetto Big Bench è nato tutto nel 2010 quando Chris nel terreno della Borgata a Clavesanna, costruì la prima panchina gigante. In poco tempo è diventata una vera e proprio attrazione tanto che ha così deciso di costruirne altre in giro per l'Italia e una in Scozia, ad oggi siamo a quota 113.
L'idea è quella di un cambio di prospettiva, non tanto per le dimensioni della panchina ma per la sensazione nel sedersi: sentirsi bambini sopra a questa gigantesca panchina con davanti paesaggi mozza fiato.
Chris Bangle dà vita al progetto BIG BENCH COMMUNITY PROJECT (BBCP) per sostenere le comunità locali con il turismo e le eccellenze artigiane nei posti in cui sono collocate queste panchine.

«È una grande lezione nell’utilizzo dell’innovazione contestuale. Siamo così ossessionati dallo scoprire cose sempre nuove che spesso ci neghiamo l’interessante esperienza di sperimentare cose ben conosciute ma in un contesto diverso». Il progetto utilizza sponsor per la costruzione degli impianti e le condizioni di Chris Bangle sono poche: le panchine devono essere costruite in zone accessibili a tutti e con panorama meraviglioso. I luoghi dove sono presenti queste meraviglie sono 113 per ora, e le metterò alla fine del post, la lista è lunga :-). Partenza alle ore 8.30 con subito sosta al bar per fare una veloce colazione. Ahah no scusate… Andiamo ancora 500 metri avanti ed ecco la vera BIG BENCH N.58, rossa perché deve essere ben visibile. Vi assicuro che lascia meravigliati quando vi ci trovate davanti, ma soprattutto sopra. Seduti come bambini a mirare davanti a noi un panorama immenso e meraviglioso, sembra non vedersi l'orizzonte, sembra che la terra si unisca con il cielo. Tutto intorno alla panchina ci sono diverse sculture, tra queste un libro in legno con una cassettina piena di cartoline a disposizione dei visitatori per lasciare il loro pensiero, il loro sogno. C'è anche una capanna in legno con dentro una lumaca gigante e delle coccinelle giganti, per restare a tema grandezza, e fuori sculture di funghi porcini giganti fanno la guardia agli animaletti che vivono nella capanna. Anche i nostri cuccioli erano un po’ disorientati davanti a questa panchina gigante, addirittura Jungle nemmeno è riuscito a salire nonostante la piccola Olivia lo incitasse :-). Andando avanti si può procedere per sentieri immersi nei boschi, che girano intorno alla collina e ci si trova davanti a paesaggi stupendi. Peccato che noi non siamo riusciti a fare tutto un sentiero a causa di impegni nel pomeriggio. Questa è stata la nostra prima panchina delle 113 del progetto, la numero 58, sapevamo che ci saremmo trovati davanti a qualcosa di particolare, ma lo stupore e la meraviglia appena arrivati, sono stati tali da far nascere l'idea o forse meglio chiamarlo sogno, di visitarle tutte. The project uses sponsors for the construction of the plants and Chris Bangle's conditions are few: the benches must be built in areas accessible to all and with wonderful views. The places where these wonders are present are 113 for now, and I will put them at the end of the post, the list is long :-). Departure at 8.30 with an immediate stop at the bar for a quick breakfast. Ahah no sorry ... Let's go another 500 meters ahead and here is the real BIG BENCH N.58, red because it must be visible. I assure you that it leaves you amazed when you find yourself in front of it, but above all above. Sitting like children gazing in front of us at an immense and wonderful panorama, it seems that the horizon cannot be seen, it seems that the earth joins the sky. All around the bench, there are several sculptures, including a wooden book with a box full of postcards available for visitors to leave their thoughts, their dreams. There is also a wooden hut with a giant snail and giant ladybugs inside, to keep the theme of size, and outside sculptures of giant porcini mushrooms guard the animals that live in the hut. Even our puppies were a bit bewildered in front of this giant bench, even Jungle couldn't even get on even though little Olivia encouraged him :-). Going forward you can proceed along paths immersed in the woods, which go around the hill and you are faced with beautiful landscapes. Too bad we weren't able to do a whole trail due to commitments in the afternoon. This was our first bench of the 113 of the project, the number 58, we knew that we would find ourselves in front of something particular, but the astonishment and the wonder as soon as we arrived, were such as to give birth to the idea or perhaps better to call it a dream, to visit them all. La numero 58 quella che abbiamo visitato stamattina, la prima nostra panchina, ha un panorama davvero meraviglioso anche se una leggera foschia ci ha tenuto segreto i particolari del paesaggio che comunque ci ha lasciato a bocca aperta.
Da casa mia a questa panchina c'è poco più di un’oretta di macchina, poi una volta parcheggiato altri 15 minuti di camminata in un sentiero ben tenuto e verde.
Subito si presenta la panchina...
Le foto qui sotto non danno la sensazione di grandezza, sembra quasi una panchina normale con un gioco di prospettiva.
Questa foto credo che renda meglio l'idea.
Nonostante la foschia a destra si intravede la Pietra di Bismantova un massiccio roccioso, altra meta di turisti e soprattutto scalatori, che chissà, forse da là stanno guardando noi ahahah.
Se capitate in quelle zone consiglio di andarle a visitare, non so come sono le altre ma se sono come questa meritano un po’ di tempo.

Today I'm talking about a new adventure that my puppy Jungle and I together with Sara and her Olivia have decided to undertake.
The Big Benches! More than an adventure, I would say a mission. Before starting to tell you about the tour we have done, I would like to explain this project made by Chris Bangle.
For those who do not yet know it, the Big Bench project was born in 2010 when Chris built the first giant bench in the Borgata land in Clavesanna. In a short time, it became a real attraction, so much so that he decided to build others around Italy and one in Scotland, today we are at 113.
The idea is that of a change of perspective, not so much for the size of the bench but for the sensation of sitting down: feeling like a child on this gigantic bench with breathtaking landscapes in front of it.
Chris Bangle gives life to the BIG BENCH COMMUNITY PROJECT (BBCP) project to support local communities with tourism and artisan excellence in the places where these benches are located.

Number 58, the one we visited this morning, our first bench, has a truly wonderful view even if a light haze has kept the details of the landscape secret from us, which in any case left us speechless.
From my house to this bench there is little more than an hour by car, then once parked another 15 minutes of walking in a well-kept and green path.
The bench immediately presents itself ...
The photos below do not give the feeling of grandeur, it almost looks like a normal bench with a play of perspective.
I think this photo makes the idea better.
Despite the haze on the right, you can see the Pietra di Bismantova a rocky massif, another destination for tourists and especially climbers, who knows, maybe from there, they are watching us hahaha.
If you happen to be in those areas, I recommend you go and visit them, I don't know what the others are like but if they are like this, they deserve some time.

Davvero bello il posto e davvero bella la panchina gigante.
Mi è piaciuto anche come hai scritto il post e l'ordine delle foto che all'inizio non facevano mettere a fuoco la grandezza mastodontica della panchina.

Il posto è veramente bello e dal vivo è sicuramente meglio, non un gran fotografo io, però diciamo che si capisce che non è un posto "normale" :)
Se capiti vicino a una BIG BENCH fermati datti 10 minuti e siediti sopra sono sicuro che davanti ci sarà un paesaggio meraviglioso e l'anima ringrazierà lo spettacolo :)
