Flattening Curation Curve

avatar

For a long time, the issue of autovote has been discussed and how curators prefer to use these applications to curate posts and get the most profit possible. This type of care does not reward all authors fairly because you prefer to focus on authors who have high ratings, without reading the contents of the post, due to the tight deadline to obtain the maximum possible reward.

Although the cure has improved due to the shutdown of the bots for the exchange of votes, today many authors do not receive the right reward, perhaps taking a lot of time but and energy but not getting the right recognition, which is also disheartening.

This happens because many stakeholders prefer to get high rewards and minimum effort, indeed no effort.

An ideal solution would be to ban autovotes, disable bots (they are not sure if this is technically possible) and perhaps entice someone to delegate their HP to always make profits without any effort.

Leofinance has started the Flattening of the Curation Curve. What does it mean? Authors will earn exactly 50% of the value of their vote, regardless of the timing of the vote. So voting a few seconds after the post is published or after a few minutes or two days will have no influence on the reward of your curation but you will always get 50%.

The change will be effective in the next few days and hopefully in this way to encourage manual curation, without time restrictions. This is as important for the editors as it is for the authors because we will have time to read the posts that interest us and vote them with the just reward they deserve.

In this way we try to discourage the use of bots for autovote, making the platform fairer and increasing the possibility of rewarding deserving authors. This is a mechanism that should also be considered for Hive in order to better distribute the reward system and increase the value of the vote.

Meanwhile, tomorrow there will be the HF 24 Eclipse and this will lead to a temporary stop of the hive.vote service pending updates from the dev.
