Movie A to Z Challenge #O
@serialfiller proposes a challenge each day whereby you find up to three movies you like and tell why you'd recommend them. This challenge seems like an easy one for individuals who love to watch movies. I don't currently watch many movies. However I have in the past, so a few of my movies choices may be classics.
Apologies that I've fallen a bit behind in my alphabet reviews. Today's movie list is from the alphabet "O" and consists of the following movie:

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
From an Oscar winning movie standpoint, I think the 2019 film by Quentin Tarantino, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", is a down-to-earth blockbuster movie worthy of an Oscar for Best Picture. The fanciful and glorified glamourous life portrayed in other films is carefully unveiled in this movie, as it depicts the true cut-throat nature of Hollywood. Tarantino is a master at developing the backdrop of a story.
The period portrayed in this movie is Hollywood in 1969. It chronicles the life of a washed-up actor, Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, and his stunt double, Cliff Booth, played by Brad Pitt. The pair are inseparable as they travel around Hollywood attempting to convince directors, writers, and anyone who has clout to invest and believe in him again.
Cliff, his stunt double, seems content with his station in life. He portrays a charater who is even natured. However, Rick portrays a multi-layered character in his approach to life and what he sees as his fair portion for himself.
Tarantino does a remarkable job in portraying the time period. I love it when I see present-day actors wearing period-related clothing and speaking in the manner of the times. This was the perfect movie to unveil the real reason of the story--to intertwine the story of Cliff's new neighbors, Roman Polanski and his wife Sharon Tate.
The story of the fate of Sharon Tate is famous. To tell the story from this viewpoint gives a new dimension to the fictional part of the movie as Cliff and Rick encounter Charles Manson and his cult followers before the murder of Cliff's new neighbor, Sharon Tate and her friends.

Desde el punto de vista de una película ganadora del Oscar, creo que la película de Quentin Tarantino, "Érase una vez en Hollywood", es un éxito de taquilla digno de un Oscar a la mejor película. La vida extravagante y glorificada y glamorosa que se retrata en otras películas se revela cuidadosamente en esta película, ya que describe la verdadera naturaleza despiadada de Hollywood. Tarantino es un maestro en el desarrollo del telón de fondo de una historia.
El período retratado en esta película es el Hollywood de 1969. Crónica de la vida de un actor fracasado, Rick Dalton, interpretado por Leonardo DiCaprio, y su doble, Cliff Booth, interpretado por Brad Pitt. Esta fue la película perfecta para revelar la verdadera razón de la historia... para entrelazar la historia de los nuevos vecinos de Cliff, Roman Polanski y su esposa Sharon Tate.
La historia del destino de Sharon Tate es famosa. Contar la historia desde este punto de vista da una nueva dimensión a la parte ficticia de la película cuando Cliff y Rick se encuentran con Charles Manson y sus seguidores de culto antes del asesinato de la nueva vecina de Cliff, Sharon Tate y sus amigos.

Excellent storytelling by Tarantino. A must-watch film.

Very good selection, the performances of Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio are excellent. It's so good that I've seen it five times already, and it's super long.
Only saw it once. But its now on reruns in our cable. For some reason, this movie, once I saw it, I didn't care to sit and watch it again. Thanks for stopping by and viewing my post.
