Este inicio de Semana Santa, contamos con dos jornadas muy valiosas en la ciudad; veterinaria y de esterilización. Ambas por separado, por tratarse la esterilización de mascotas de un proceso muy delicado que requiere organización y concentración. Las mismas fueron realizadas en la sede de Protección Civil Guanipa, y contaron con el apoyo del Grupo de Misión Nevado, veterinarios muy profesionales, el equipo de Protección Civil, y en el caso de la jornada veterinaria, también el equipo de Protección Ambiental.

En la jornada veterinaria, a la que sí asistí desde temprano, se dieron cita más de 100 mascotas entre perros y gatos, siendo esta primera la matrícula más extensa. Hasta el mediodía sólo había un pequeño número de 10 gatitos, y el resto eran perritos. Me alegró muchísimo que la colectividad acudiera a este llamado de atención gratuita, considerando lo costosas que están las consultas veterinarias y la necesidad de que los peluditos sean atendidos. En el lugar había perritos de todas las razas, edades y tamaños, incluidos animalitos en situación de calle rescatados que fueron llevados para atención y posterior adopción.

At the beginning of Holy Week, we have two very valuable days in the city; veterinary and sterilization. Both separately because the sterilization of pets is a very delicate process that requires organization and concentration. They were held at the headquarters of Civil Protection Guanipa, and were supported by the Nevado Mission Group, very professional veterinarians, the Civil Protection team, and in the case of the veterinary day, also the Environmental Protection team.

In the veterinary day, which I attended early in the morning, there were more than 100 pets between dogs and cats, being the first one the largest enrollment. Until noon there were only a small number of 10 kittens, and the rest were puppies. I was very happy that the community came to this call for free attention, considering how expensive veterinary consultations are and the need for the little furry ones to be attended. In the place there were dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes, including rescued street animals that were taken for care and subsequent adoption.

En la jornada veterinaria se aplicaron las siguientes atenciones:

Desparasitación, atención médica, corte de uñas, limpieza de oídos, diagnósticos y receta médicas, y atención de casos de maltrato animal. Me encantó coincidir con otros proteccionistas que admiro y respeto, como los chicos de Nevado en mi localidad; Andreina, de quien ya he hablado en mi blog y Rodman, quien ejerce una labor titánica con el rescate de animalitos en situación de calle.
