I admit, I love Christmas decoration

Unfortunately, we left most in Budapest either for sale or donation because I didn't want to ship another box. Looking back, it would have been cheaper if I did, but what to do about it now, right? so I had to buy a new tree, while ours in Budapest was very nicely priced and quite full, not like many of the cheaper ones that still look like shit. I checked for trees in October, being shocked seeing similar trees for 2,5/3x the price I paid back then, ouch! When I spotted one for just 32 bucks or so, I decided to buy it and hope for the best. I don't want to invest in a beautiful full and big tree now as we are not where we want to be yet, home-wise and area-wise so stuff have to move along again and I rather buy something fitting when we feel we are where we will stick around longer.

Empty walls

As we moved in to a newly renovated apartment here, the walls are white and without any screws from former pictures or other decoration on the wall. Everything has been nicely tightened up before we moved in. Until a few weeks ago, we didn't have tools either, these were stored at our friend's house. Now that we have it, some of them have already proven to be useful solving a few issues. I yet have to ask the landlord if we can hang up a few things because the walls look cold and it feels extra cold now that the hous is cold as well, lol, so I'm a bit more motivated to get this moving and hang up some pictures and artwork soon.

Christmas tree lights

Because of the empty walls, I was actually excited to have the tree lights up again as soon as possible because it gives the room some more warmth. We changed the placing of the dining table, and some of the cat things to have the tree in the right corner and now the room feels even bigger. Smart move, now it's definitely time to add decoration. We went to a store to find some tree decoration within the budget because these beautiful ones cost a fortune and we aren't yet sure about which colours we would like to invest in. We went for pink and silver this year, in Budapest we had blue shades and now we let our daughter decide mostly.

The lights are so expensive

And they aren't even great quality like the ones we had in Budapest and sold for a bargain before leaving. It is what it is. We focussed on the numer of lights mostly and then the pricing, at home we found out that we can decorate the whole living room with these lights, 25 meters! Oh man, we first wanted to go back and change them but this guy in the store is super unfriendly and none of us feels like going so I think I will just think of another way to use them around the tree instead and then get these items in the tree today or tomorrow. Once this is in there, I will start creating some handmade stuff with my daughter as I feel something should be added every year. This year, we at least found some candy canes, so these will be in the tree too this year..

To be continued...

Have fun! I really hate folding the tree myself, but I'm happy that it turns out to be ok-ish at least for the price we paid.. I bet it looks better when we have it all decorated :)

It was for me too when I was young but the family fell apart at some point so now we have to make our own memories.. I always love it when it's up as the lights are nice :) and when it's christmas eve these gifts under the tree are fun :)

Have a good one this year!

I wish I could make handmade stuff. It would save me some money because Christmas decorations are pretty expensive this year more than last.

I'll say your tree looks great for an artificial tree. The fuller it is, the more money it costs. 😄 When you hang the bubbles and other ornaments, it will look full!

I'm happy you are settling in well. Time for some holiday cheer. Happy weekend. !LUV 🙂

Oh I noticed! I seriously told my bf no we will buy new lights there as it's all heavy extra items to ship over and we will need an extra box to ship it (it was 50 euros I think per box) .. now we paid almost 20 bucks for the lights here while we could have shipped over a full moving box for 50 and not having to buy other stuff that I'm missing now lol.

I haven't managed to fill it all up yet because some things have priority and I just go buy them when I miss them but it was stupid not to listen to him in this case :)

I will first check how it looks and then probably add few more decorations but need to look at it first and take it in :) on a budget for decoration so that we could buy a few items our daughter also couldn't take here. Like her dollhouse and some other stuff. Priorities :) lol

You can also make some things quite easily without too much skills, just look for tutorials.. even without a sewing machine..

Happy weekend!
